Does anybody know why Elaine wasn't in the original pilot (first episode)? AND why it was almost a full year from the time the first episode (pilot) aired to when the second episode aired (The Stakeout)?

i don't think the network liked the pilot, and larry david agreed as he has stated in many interviews. i think they might have been bouncing back and forth on whether to continue with the series; instead of elaine, the first episode had them pushing another female lead in the opening credits, but i guess she didn't have as strong a presonality as lainey grew to have.

I was wondering if they air the 1989 shows on tv. i always see 1990 like the stakeout but nothing in they replay those? Also if they do or do you think they will be on the dvd's when they come out, like the chronicles and so forth.

Huh? Wasn't The Seinfeld Chronicles the only one to air in 1989, with the show returning on the summer schedule during 1990 with four episodes (Stakeout, Robbery, Male Unbonding, Stock Tip) and then returning again in mid-season in 1991?

Someone correct me if I am mistaken, here.

"Who am I, Rich Little?" (the best line in that episode in my opinion) Laughing

There's something wrong with Loni Anderson?

Thick, lustrous hair is very important to her.

I broke up with her because she beat me at chess. I don't see how I could perform sexually after something like that. I was completely emasculated.

It seems to me that they were going to try to use the waitress as the female character for the show possibly.

I don't know, remember it was only a pilot.

I remember seeing it, no lie!

It was around the 4th of July in 1989. Jerry Seinfeld was my favorite comedian at the time. I had seen him on Letterman alot and always thought he was great. It didn't matter what it was about, Jerry Seinfeld was just so likeable it was worth watching.

The interaction between Jerry and George or Jerry and Kramer was/is what the shows all about, in my opinion.

I think by sleeping with Donna Chang, Jimmy may have sent her the wrong message.
