Did anyone see Al Franken on Letterman last night?

He asked the audience "Okay, how many people out there have ever accidentally shot one of their friends in the face?" (audience laughs) Then he says "Now let me ask you... if you did happen to shoot one of your friends in the face, would you maybe jump into the ambulance and travel with him to the hospital, or maybe even hop into a bulletproof limousine to meet him there?" (big audience applause)

Then he insisted that the only reason one wouldn't, is if one were a drunk U.S. Vice President.

Good ol' Al! Laughing

To be honest, I liked Al better when he was running for Prez on SNL and telling folks to “Vote for me, Al Franken”, saying how his watch and tie were "now deductbile", and asking them to send him all their receipts because "my accountants can do wonders with them". Now he just seems a bitter and vile pain in the ass (not that I really mind anyone being a pain in Chaney’s ass). He is just so shrill and ridiculous as to be totally without credibility. He's much better in print. I loved Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. It's a funny look at Bush and Fox, ahem, News.

Yes! Loved that book, and Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot.

He's good enough, he's smart enough, but doggone it, will people vote for him?

Well, i don't know about all this democrat/republican bitch fight, but Al Franken is one of the "naturally" funny men in the business. Seems like he doesn't have to try to hard, which i like.

You can use the movie Stuart Saves His Family just as you would use Seinfeld as a benchmark to measure a person's intelligence. If the person doesn't laugh, simply say something like "I'm sorry, but I don't think this is going to work out."
