I don't think this deserves a whole thread, but i didn't know how to slip this one into a conversation. I just saw an episode of American Dad (same people who do Family Guy), and there was a part where the father (a CIA agent) tried to impress his boss with a clever joke or something, which didn't go over too well. Then back at the house, his wife asks if he used the joke that she came up with to tell his boss, to which he replies, "No, it bombed! Thanks a lot Larry David!"

Now my question is: Is this taking a shot at Larry or is this showing respect for Larry? Because either the father thinks Larry David is a great writer and therefore making a sarcastic comparison (As if to say his wife is the complete opposite of a Larry David). Or he thinks Larry David sucks and is making a simple comparison, (as if to say his wife is like Larry David).

I'm pretty sure it's the first one, but either way at least this ought to keep us busy for a few seconds.

It's a good show, though.

What was his tone when he said it? By the way, the show sucks. It's too fast paced and isn't nearly as funny as Family Guy is.

Sounds like he's saying she's no Larry David. As in "Wrong again, Einstein." Sounds like a complement to LD.

Is that the show with the football-shaped baby who speaks with a grown-up, David Niven voice that Jimmy absolutely refuses to watch?

I think you're talking about "Family Guy" Jimmy. Though I'm not too savvy on those shows either.

I think it's a compliment to LD also. Jim's Einstein example is perfect. I was thinking along the lines of "Dial 9 Merlin".

Just for the record... Jimmy's not saying Family Guy isn't funny. Jimmy's never watched it. It may, very well, be funny, but Jimmy can't stand bad cartoons. Every cartoon is on that awful Sponge Bob, retard cartoonist level now. What happened to Disney and Chuck Jones? These guys suck ass today.

What about that show with Jason doing the duck voice. Never had the stomach to watch that acid trip either.
