Okay, I am trying another experiment with the episode video downloads.

This experiment uses "BT". (To avoid attracting too much attention, let's use the term BT instead of the full name of the product). It is a small download, less than 3MB.

Because of the way BT works, I have grouped the episodes into seasons (with 1 and 2 being together).

Basically, the way BT works, is that the more people are downloading at the same time, the faster the speed for everyone. Because of this, I ask that you keep the download windows open after they have completed downloading.

it may be a little slow at first, but once more people start downloading, I think you should be able to download an entire season in less than 24 hours.

To help get this started, it would be great if everyone could try this for a few days, even if you already have the videos. You can try it now by clicking here.

By the way, I have turned off the (slower)HTTP downloads temporarily - I want to use as much bandwidth as I can to get the BT downloads moving fast.

i've used bt for ages and came here through the link on suprnova. Judging by the speeds at the moment it seems your bandwith is too stretched. maybe you should have started with less series and as soon as those were complete quit them, as the seeders would support them, and start the next ones. it may have meant the same overall time period but at least those first series could be accessed and stored earlier, rather than waiting for lots of series to slowly finish. just a thought, but thanks for the upload, seinfeld rules!

Thanks for the feedback, Lee.

I will give this a try for a few days, and see how it goes (they've only been up a few hours now). Perhaps after that, I will take your advice and try one season at a time, to get things started faster. I'm new to BT, so I'm just feeling it out...

Changed my mind. I am taking Lee's advice now. Smile Season 1 and 2 is available only, until things start moving faster...

This is a great "service", but do you have any idea when the http downloads will be up and running again?

Update: Lee's advice worked great Very Happy , 1_and_2 now has over 100 seeds. I have now made Season 3 available as well.

IcemanIX, at this rate, I think I will be able to put the HTTP downloads back up within 1 or 2 weeks, maybe sooner.

glad it's working better, got home from work and season 1/2 is finished and i'm seeding that. shame i decided to leave that and series 9 open instead of 3. oh well Crying or Very Sad . be aware that the unseeded ones may be taken of suprnova (unsure where else you posted them) after a while so may need to be resubmitted.

also, for the people unaware of bt - the best client is shadows. it has much more options and you should set max upload speed to 80% of your max to get optimum download speeds. also, this client has a great seeding facility (superseed mode) whereby only unsent data is shared. in other clients the same data may be given to 2 peers - increasing the amount you have to send before a full copy is available.

Dear Stan,

Now I am unable to download. It says "problem connecting to tracker". I looked up on the FAQ and they said that either means the site is down, or I am unable to have simultaneous upload.

Is there a problem with the file or me? If with me, how do I fix the simultaneous upload?

Also, what program do you use to watch these files??!! Will Media Player work?

I dont know if it is my problem or the tracker

You can use Windows Media Player as long as you have the divx codec installed ( The error messages you are getting are not you, it is the server not responding to you. Just be patient and leave your BT clients open for as long as it takes. Bittorrent isn't always the quickest thing in the world.

How do I know if I need the codec? I guess if it doesn't run? I can run the "short clips" with Media Player with no problems. But, is that a different animal?

I got the link to, do I install the whole player, or just the "codec"?

PS. The downloads are working now. Thanks STAN!

Whitenack - use g-spot to find out what codecs you need for each avi.

with divx it's best just to get the standard codec (which comes with player) and is free and not adware. get it under the features table or direct here

giddy up again
