okay so me and my friends have been arguing about this. in the 'millenium' episode :

JERRY: By the way Newman, I'm just curious. When you booked the hotel, did you
book it for the millennium New Year?

NEWMAN: (smug) As a matter of fact, I did.

JERRY: Oh, that's interesting, because as everyone knows, since there was no
year zero, the millennium doesn't begin until the year two-thousand and one.
Which would make your party, one year late, and thus, quite lame.

Newman absorbs the logic of Jerry's argument. His face twitches as he realises
his error.

JERRY: Aww!

SHOULDn't JERRY HAVE SAID EARLY INSTEAD OF LATE?????

I think jerry would be wrong because newman is booking his party for the year 2000 when the actual millennium is 2001. He should have said early

No, doug7668, the previous poster is correct.

Newman was aware of the "true" millenium being at the end of 2000:
NEWMAN: (smug) As a matter of fact, I did.

So he booked the party for Dec 31, 2000.

But everybody else is celebrating on Dec 31, 1999, so Newman is one year late compared with the rest of the world -- he outsmarted himself Laughing

I admit it's a confusing dialog.

Can you people also not figure out why years in the 20th century began with 19... and now, in the 21th century, years begin with 20? Are you people on DOPE? You're the people who are going to be in charge of this world when Jmmy's a helpless old man? You can't even think NUMBERICALLY? God help us all, we're surronded by morons!!!!

First of all, a different sentence had the word "NUMBERS" before Jimmy changed the sentence and added the "ICALLY" with out changing the "NUMBER" to "NUMER." It's called a mistake, not moronism.

Secondly, there's a little unwritten rule in forums... Never correct someone's typos or grammer unless you want to be forever corrected everytime you post. Hope, for your sake, the rest of your posts are perfect, punk. Jimmy's far, far superior to you in the English language... Jimmy's all over your dumb -ass now. Your WAY out of your league sonny!

Only a moron would make such a mistake. You just don't get it Jimmy. The point is that you are making fun of people and calling them names for no reason. Nobody called you any names or made fun of you. All I am doing is sticking up for people who are insulted or made fun of for no reason. The funniest part is that you talk down to people and then call them morons right after you made a mistake. It is like you are the pot calling the kettle black.

1) The script is right

2) RE: Jimmy
I'm by no means the best with grammar and spelling, but do not say you're "far, far superior" especially when that post itself contains grammatical errors.

I couldn't find any sentance with the word "numbers" in it, but even if it's there, you would have to delete the word to capitalize it, so I'm not sure why you made the excuse that you did. But even so, I agree it's just a stupid mistake that anyone can make.

It's quite amazing how many people are called idiots and morons on this board just for asking questions, mis-interpreting something, making small errors in posts, or just having a different view on a subject. Although I know there are also polite people on here, I just hope this board doesn't turn into the IMDB board.

Well, I'm done my rant. This post wasn't meant to anger anyone, but if you're so inclined, you can point out all of the mistakes in it.

JKLeafs:
Have you ever wrote a sentence... then decided to change it by deleting certain words, and keeping others (for example, the word ("NUMBERS")? If you still don't get it, that's your problem. Nobody cares about your grammer, or typing errors because you haven't been criticizing everyone else's. Only Little Jerry's errors are unacceptable from now, on.

Jimmy never called anyone a moron for posting a question. Jimmy called anyone a moron who still can't comprehend the millennium issue.

LITTLE JERRY'S MISTAKES for this thread so far:

"...people and then call them morons right after you made a mistake." ("call" is present tense. "made" is past tense..... it should say "...people and then CALL them morons right after you MAKE a mistake." moron!)

You were the one who started criticizing people. I am just defending the people you pick on. How can you criticize people for their grammar? You spelled GRAMMAR wrong!

I was not referring about you criticizing people’s GRAMMAR. I was referring to you criticizing people for their questions and remarks. You must be 10 years old to be so ignorant that you don’t understand my point. I guess we all have to accept your mistakes because we all understand how dumb you really are. I will not respond to any more of your stupid posts. Every time you reply it makes you look even dumber. It isn’t worth trying to make a point to someone who is too stupid to understand.
