I think I've picked up on a continuity error. I want to know whether you guys can confirm it, and whether anyone has ever brought this up before.

We all know that Jerry's vomit streak supposedly dates to June 29th, 1980 (as referenced in "The Dinner Party").

But consider this: The episode "The Dog" first aired in October, 1991. During the episode, when George and Elaine are sitting together in Monk's, Elaine notes that she has "been here" (presumably New York City) for about six years. George then counts off the years, beginning with 1986. Later on in the conversation, George asks Elaine whether she has ever seen Jerry throw up; she makes it clear that she has, as they both begin to laugh and imitate Jerry's convulsive gestures.

So, if Elaine only came to New York in 1986, after which she met and began dating Jerry, how could she have seen him throw up? Does Jerry lie about his streak? Is Elaine just imagining things? Or am I just worrying too much about a really minor point?

Thanks for your time.
Andrew

You take these things too literally. It's like saying you're hungry enough to eat a horse.

..........but if you counted all the goofs in Seinfeld you would spend years... i like this one, in the opening scene of "the Jimmy" when George is talking to kramer, if you look in the background you will notice there is an open locker with a empty vanilla fold in it, which is weird anyway, but in the next frame the camera zooms out and the locker is closed when obviously no one closed it....I don't know how things like that slide through the editing process its so easy to see.

what are some of your guys favorit seinfeld goofs?

Not really a "goof" but when Jerry and Elaine are eating George's leftover lobster from the foil wrapper shaped like a swan... the way that scene is edited together they always seem to be out of synch from take to take. It's like the director couldn't keep track of everybody.

I remember several bloopers from that lobster/swan scene because Julia (big surprise) kept cracking up and they had to retake that scene several times. It is possible they just gave up on her and just put usable snippets together since she was giggling so much.

the point is, in today's modern world it just doesn't seem relevant
