Does anybody have a clue what song is playing in the background while Kramer and Newman are making sausages in "The Blood"? I really need to know this, I have a project that could use some music like that.

Thank you in advance! Very Happy

Not sure if it is a particular song, or just some generic music clip they grabbed somewhere. It is played later in the episode, too. Sounds like Wurlitzer organ music, with maybe a Latin flavor.(?) Reminds me of the music they played at the roller skating rink when I was a kid.

The name of the song is Manana (pronounced mun-yanna)

i have a version of it recorded by Peggy Lee, but it has lyrics (unlike the one in the episode)

Ramon, how did you figure that out? Did you recognize it from the Peggy Lee version you had? Smile

yep... that was it. i was right in the middle of a Ray Conniff Singers marathon when i thought i'd switch it up a little.
while playing the third of my seven peggy lee albums, i heard 'manana' and the rest is, as we say, history.

Very impressive, Ramon.

If we could just harness this power and use it for our own personal gain, we might actually get some clean towels around here.

hmm...after downloading Manana by Peggy Lee, I have determined that while that is definitely the song used in "The Blood" (same melody at least) it is definitely not the same version. The version played in Jerry's kitchen (and later on in Kramer's car -- good detective work, J. Chiles) is mainly Wurlitzer organ, while the version I downloaded is mostly flute and guitar. If anyone finds a specific version like the one in the episode, let me know.

thanks once again.

It's Manana by Jackie Davis. Jimmy has answered this about seven times. Not that Jimmy minds... just keeping count. Laughing

He's a Hammond organ Jazz musician.

And as Jimmy has said before, the exact same version (played during the Kramer and Newman thing) is available on iTunes.

btw

was the quote "He's a Hammond organ Jazz musician." supposed to mean that Jimmy is a jazz musician, or that Jackie is a jazz musician? Confused

Jimmy is very unsual. I've never heard anyone talk the way Jimmy does before.

Jackie Davis is a Hammond Organ Jazz musician... though Jimmy has been known to dabble in quite a bit of jazz on the guitar theses days... what with rock and roll dying in 1991, and all.

Hey Jimmy, my LimeWire only has an m4a version of the song. you think you could post the mp3 version on one of those file uploady sites (I donno..you probably know what i'm talking about) for me? Seeing as my computer doesn't feel like playing m4a files and I don't feel like paying for music. Tee-hee.

What happened in '91 that killed rock n' roll?

I thought it died, at least with respect to guitarists that switched to jazz, beginning with the age of disco. Sad
