Larry, Cheryl, Jeff and Susie encounter a "nanny from hell" whose reign of terror is thwarted by ten sponge cakes. Larry commits a "penis faux pas" after a pool party, and Richard Lewis seeks immortality from Bartlett's Quotations.

I agree. Just saw it and it was - being CYE - quite lame. Some funny situations, but owerall a story under par with some irritating illusion-breaking acting (the actress who played the Nanny was too over-the-top if you ask me, and the whole black-white scene where she attacks Susie wasn't that good either. + the ening, with the landing on the cakes. Too obvious and not that funny). |

wow I can't believe nobody likes this episode this is one of my favorites. I think its hillarious whenever Cheryl asks Larry why he commented on Hugh's son's penis to Hugh and Larry replied by saying "I took a risk." |

Hi everyone,
Before I start, just gotta say that I'm english and that its really hard to keep up with CYE over here. Which is a real shame because I honestly think its the geatest show I've ever seen and I think Larry david has certainly got a british edge to his humour. I only even heard of the show after reading an interview with ricky gervais - who is a huge fan. you basically have to buy the dvd's - which is fine with me, but the average guy on the street hasn't even heard of the show. anyway - just saw some criticism of the 'nanny from hell' episode, and saw that someone said that the part of the nanny was over-acted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think this is one of the best episodes of CYE (my all time favourite is 'trick or treat'), and that I don't think the part of the nanny was over-acted at all. I'd even go so far as to say that if you think that the part is over-acted then you are probably not quite getting the character/the joke. The joke is that she is SO fucked up from her 15 years in the theme park that she has lost all sense of reality and that she just can't function normally in the real world. if the part was played in an understated way then the joke wouldn't work. also, to criticise he fact that 12 sponge cakes wouldn't break the fall is ridiculous - this is obvious, and it seems to me that anyone who thinks this is certainly not enjoying the show on the level that most people are.
Anyway - love the show,

does anyone know what voice larry is doing when he sees the boys penis and says "well hello johnny!". he also does the same voice in episode 1 of series 4 and cracks Jeff up! thanks |

haha I loved that penis thing. like how the little boy had the big penis. That was funny. And when Larry was actually getting seriously mad at that kid and they were going at it back and forth and then with the kid's dad. Fuck Hue! hahaha and that lady in the theatre who acted liek she was the staff but she was just a viewer. She's telling Larry to drink it outside of the theatre. Fuck her! |
