I have a question about the door to Seinfeld's apartment. Kramer is always bursting through Jerry's door; however, when Jerry buzzes Elaine or George in, I noticed that Jerry unlocks the door and opens the door slightly. If the door is locked, how does Kramer open the door? I know Kramer has Jerry's key; however the key in on Kramer's huge key ring, which is not on the door when he (Kramer) opens the door. I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated!

This is probably something no one really pays attention too unless you're really critical or observant. So, slipup? Probably. |

Jerry's buzzer is to let the people outside into the building, not to unlock his door. His door seems to always be unlocked. |

However, to add to the confusion, in "The Robbery" from the 1st season, Jerry talks about paying all this money for the lock on the door and that it is fail safe, providing the door is closed. Indicating to Kramer that if he didnt leave the door open, he wouldn't have got robbed. |

What's confusing about him telling Kramer that he wants his door closed and locked when he's not home? What's confusing about him having to unlock his doors, for the first time after waking up, for people to come in? What's confusing about already having the door unlocked (because he's home and has probably already used it), when Kramer comes barging in?
Put down the Lightsaber, stop eating your boogers, and get outside. |

the topic creator meant that when jerry buzzes up elaine or george, he sometimes unlocks the door and his question was why is that |

See second sentence of Reply 5. Perhaps reading a little slower this time. |

What's confusing is Elaine once commented on how Jerry has THE slowest elevator in the city yet once she (or George) is buzzed-in they are at the door in two seconds.
Seems the only real delay anyone ever had on the show was when Jerry was rewinding his mini-tapie Elaine had left the erotic message on. Well, then there was the moment of silence between Jerry and Nena. And we all know what happened next (if not, prompt Elaine with Peach Schnopps).

What's confusing is the rehashing of old dead topics. It's like the forum has been flipped upside down and now we live in a bizarro forum. A place without sense and meaning, where the original posters have either died or become crystal meth addicts.
The final straw was the second Drake, this stops now!! |

5 cents for ryan for this doozie... Ch-ching!
You see in this one, the thread originally didn't take but after 15 months of fermenting we were able to squeeze some discussion out of it. |

ok people, this one is easy.
the original question was If the door is locked, how does Kramer open the door?
easy as pie, 99% of the time the door is unlocked but not open (literally) so basically kramer can open the door, however sometimes when kramer is not scheduled to come in they show him unlocking the door to show that george and or elaine won't just open the door like kramer has know very well to do, its also the fact the its mentioned that jerrys appartment is like kramers 2nd home so basically he can come and go as he pleases.
you people are like seinfeld, lol making things difficult when they dont have to be.

Mookie: That's not the tape they're rewinding! It was the tape from George's secret tape recorder. The one he had hidden in his brief case during the Susan Foundation meeting. Remember? |
