When I did a search for Seinfeld DVD, I came across Seinfeld_____.com based in Canada. They are selling all 9 seasons of Seinfeld on 24 DVD discs along with 88 minutes of bloopers for $240.

Is this an authorized collection? According to the latest news, Seinfeld and partners are only now talking about putting together a DVD collection of the episodes. What would be missing from the Seinfeld_____ collection that may be on the proposed collection that supposedly will hit the market next year?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jose

There are no authorized Seinfeld DVD set of any kind anywhere period, what would be missing from these sets will be the extras and of course the DVD image and sound quality of a proper DVD transfer, be aware of sites claiming to have Seinfeld DVDs, many are nothing but a scam.

Michael, it is a homemade set. The artwork seems a little different from another homemade set being sold though - but based on the address, it is likely the same company who has being selling with 6-7 different domain names over the past few months (very "fly-by-night"). Some people reported rteceived product, others lost their money - so it's pretty risky.

With less than a year until the official release, I'm waiting...

Likely? NOT LIKELY IT ISSSSSSSSSSSSS

Watch this site is going to get shut down but not only that he should be arrested

PS- I am pretty sure that the official release will not be in 2004 reason being is due to the fact that it has never happened and it would take everything to fall into place for the official release to take place in 2004.

I would look for an official release in 2005 or so, it depends on when they get everything resolved and it is still heavily in syndication. It's not sure even if Turner would allow the release this soon since they just bought part of the rights from Sony, Tristar, and others.

Having many different rights owners is just going to make it more difficult for release onto DVD. There could be some lawsuits ahead on the rights.

Thanks for your info, everybody. I was getting ready to dish out the $250.00 myself in a couple of weeks but couldn't remember the website. When I did a search to try and find it I came across this one. I'm sure glad you were all here. I don't want a bootleg copy either. I want the original. I will wait.

Thanks for the tip off. Can anyone tell me if Tvdirectmedia.com is ligitimate or not? This web sites claims to have all 9 seasons 180 seinfeld episodes plus bloopers for sale. Apparently they supposedly deal through a UK company which has the rights to produce the Seinfeld set??

Watch out for these guys! I called tvseriestodvd.com on phone.
When I asked one question too many (where they are, how they can sell 24 dvd's for $149.99) the guy hung up on me. Then someone called me back 5 minutes later (I did not give him my number), wanting to know if I wanted to place order over phone. I asked the guy where he was located, he said Nova Scotia. When I asked for an address, he hung up on me again!!! SCAM!!!

I actually did place an order through TVseriestoDVD.com, back on October 26. Attempts to reach them directly via phone since then have been completely in vain until today. They claim their products will be received in 3-4 weeks, and since it was exactly four weeks, I called to check on them.

A guy actually answered this time and asked what I'd ordered; when I mentioned the Seinfeld, he said they all shipped out today, so I should expect it within five days.

I've been in touch with the marketing company that handles their payments throughout this period, and they seem legit:

www.cwmarketing.com

In five days' time, I won't be surprised if I'm calling them for a refund. Their website looked a little suspicious to begin with (writing style, price, etc), but the photos of the various volumes are what sold me. They assured me these were not copies but were sealed and acquired from some TV convention, which is probably a bunch of nonsense, but we'll see.

I'll keep this site posted.

Quick update: first of all, the marketing website I provided is wrong. The real one is:

http://www.cwmarketinginc.com/

I just spoke with Lucy in customer service, and I was assured that refunds would be available if the vendor failed to provide tracking information to them. I was told to call back in 24 hours for tracking info, so we'll see; if it's not available, I'm getting my refund and it's a lesson learned...

Busy day here...

The postal service just delivered my package, and contrary to TVSeriestoDVD's assertion that "this is the collector's edition, not just a bunch of discs and homemade artwork," this IS just a bunch of discs and homemade artwork. I checked disc one to be sure and there's a little "Fox TV" logo in the corner of the screen. No special features, just what you'd expect.

CW has assured me of a refund. Case closed.
