This show is about absurdism, so .... it would only 'make sense' if it ended absurdly .... which it did. I thought it was an amazing ending, so I wouldn't want to do it any other way.

I loved the finale, but my lesser Seinfeld fan friends didn't. Some of the episode, before the plane crash, was good usual Seinfeld, which is pretty overlooked compared to the trial scene. Seeing all the past characters in the courtroom made me laugh without them doing anything. And the final conversation was sheer writing genius. Jerry's standup in prison, I thought was hilarious. "I don't come down to where you work and knock the license plate out of your hands."

The best part of it, was that it was a sitcom and it avoided the cliches. i don't know how many other sitcoms have ended with someone or everyone moving away, but not Seinfeld, instead they get locked up. It's beautiful.

true, but i bet u can't deny that a tiny part of u wanted to see all the characters end up happy...jerry and george becoming successful writers, elaine settling down (possibly with jerry), one of kramer's schemes finally working
i know it would have beebn contrary to the whole show, but there was a part of me that wanted to see it happen

I think they should do a reunion movie that bases the four in some type of search for Kramers father.

how about having jerry marry elaine
george is the best man and he screws everything up by losing the wedding ring and or somehow falling on the wedding cake
and to make things great have Kramer since he was not the best man, have him throw the bachelor party and to top things of have Kramer win the lottery and have George lose the winning ticket or something

No No No!!! What is it with people so obsessed with Jerry marrying Elaine??? That's the last thing the show was about...it would ruin everything...No offense, but i think that anyone who wants to see Jerry and Elaine get married either in a re-union show or an "imaginary" last episode doesn't "get" what Seinfeld was all about...No marriage!!!!!

So YOUR perception of the show is officially what Seinfeld was all about? Now I finally get it.

How about "Seinfeld and The Harlem Globetrotters Go To L.A.?"

Geez....people watch a show for NINE years, and still don't get it..........

I must say I personally would love it if the show returned to prime time with them getting out of jail. Then continue the show on the exact same path as it was. However, I'm pretty sure it would ruin what the show was about and the respect people have given it. It's funny because I watch all the reruns that are on TV like it's the first time I ever watched the show. I laugh just as hard and seem to want more when it's done. The chemistry the 4 of them had is priceless.

How about Jerry and George get married.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was trying to quote Kimbro's line when George says "I don't think relationship humour is what this show's about". But I can't remember what he said, exactly.
