Agreed... I love seinfeld for what it is... and therefore would enjoy a DVD consisting of just that. Unfortunatley that Exec was right... that people want some frilly nonsense more then the show itself. Im with 4 star on this one. Ill just be happy to have the show seinfeld on DVD in which I can pick and choose which episodes I watch. Could honestly care less whether they have interviews... it would be nice however unlike most of you folks... I think it is not a necessity... the show Seinfeld is what I like... and that is what I am looking for.

I've been thinking about getting a bootleg complete (180 episode) dvd of seinfeld. Obviously, I'd rather get an official dvd, but I'm worried that after waiting one year only the first season will be on dvd and not the entire series. Will the entire series be out on dvd in about one year, or just the first season or so? Thanks for your thoughts

Bob, I think the answer is somewhere in between. The first season had only 4 episodes - that's not enough by itself. Perhaps we will see seasons 1 & 2 on the first DVD release in 2004.

I highly doubt that they will release everything at the same time - they will be able to charge more for the entire set if they release them bit by bit. After they are done, of course, you will see the "special edition boxed set" release, and all of us obsessed Seinfeld fans will run out and buy that too! Wink

It sucks, if they don't wanna do interviews for the dvd, than don't. I'd love to have the dvd sets with or without them. I'd would be just as good to hear from Wayne Knight and Jerry Stiller and others. It's not always about the money people, if you don't wanna do it for the exec's do it for the fans!

I would love to see this come to reality with Seinfeld on DVD. Who ever owns the show should have the decision to do so. So what if the other 3 aren't in co-hoots. Maybe Larry & Jerry ought to give up a little of their share for them. But then some may say what about Newman or some of the other lesser characters. All about the Benjamins.

I think Julia (Elaine) and Jason (George) are in the wrong. The show made them millionaires!! Made them successful!! And they are acting like spoiled, greedy, blood sucking brats....I am very disappointed in them.
I am proud of Michael Richards (Kramer) (who recently said he would participate in the DVD). He doesn't believe it would be "morally" right to not too...and he is right.

I think the actors are totally in the right. I think after 9 seasons, they played an intergral part of making the show what it was.

I think the 4(not only Seinfeld) made the show halarious, the 4 equally. I dont think it should be an even split in profits, but I think the three deserve a nice slice of the pie.

I think the NETWORKS are in the wrong for not paying the three for thier time. The NETWORKS are money hungry not willing to pay 3/4 of the shows comedic force.

All four made the show and all four should have a part of the profit. Without those four we would have never watched.

Looks like Kramer has changed his mind. One down, two to go. Smile

I continue to watch the show religiously... every night before I go to bed I throw 3-4 episodes on Windows Media Player and just relax. It took me a while to get all the episodes and I am happy with what I have, but of course the DVD would be a dream...
However I must agree with the co-stars on this issue. I dont think it's a matter of money rather than a matter of corporate America trying to screw everyone the best they can. I dont think any of them really need the money, but they MUST get paid. It's true, without them there is no show. It's only fair that they share the profits from the DVD. Frankly, I'd rather stick with my low rez downloaded copies and not buy the DVD if they don't get to share the profits. There is no way I'm giving Time Warner any of my money if I don't know it isn't going to be shared with the people who TRULY deserve it.

I agree they should all get a small piece of the action. With George and Elane there is no Seinfeld.

I don't care abut the interviews. But I'm also agreeing with the 3 actors actually. They are as much start of the show, it's actually showing disrespect to them from the filling-their-pockets-with-money-guys. So is Jerry all about money too?

I'm not saying I'm upset with Jerry or anything, but I think its wrong of him to not share the profits or come up with some system where they divided the earnings. I know you never want to give up money but when you have as much as him giving up some of his share to get elaine and george would be nice. I do feel that he probably has a big ego and that he doesnt understand how important all of them(not just him) were key to the show's success and his personal success. you look at the cast of friends who alwys goes into contract negotiations as a team, or recently, ray romano giving up some salary to keep his costars, and you wonder why jerry seinfeld doesnt it the same way. The dvd will be awesome either but i think it does tarnish it slightly.

Does anyone know if there is a chance george and elaine can change their mind or it can turn around. I think the article said jerry would talk to them sometimes after the new year. well, its february.

Its great to hear that they are making DVD's finally of the best tv show ever, Seinfeld! Although, it is a shame that the other 3 main characters of the show decided not to participate. I totally understand though. They put 9 hard years into that show to make it what it was, and these corporate yahoo's decide that they dont deserve a piece of the action? If it wasnt for them, there would be no action! Julia, Jason, and Micheal all deserve there well earned $$. I just hope that by Dec some understanding is worked out, because that DVD set just wont be the same without them. Sad

I heard that they're all participating now after Jerry talked them into it.
