Sorta funny, too, how in the first episode Jerry is painted rather clueless about women with GEORGE the authority.

Also, is this the only episode where Kramer is supposed to have a dog. Or was that just a stray? Smile

Finally, and this is really a small item, Kramer seems to just partially tear out whatever it is he finds of interest in Jerry's magazine, but when Jerry gives him the snake-eye the article is fully removed and in Kramer's hand when the camera returns to him............

Note: Jerry is wearing "red" sweat pants not "blue" and Blue sweat shirt not "red". Also, yes, the cabnets are brown, but how do you know they are empty??? They are never opened and you can't see through them so why do you assume they are empty??? Get your facts strait.

Note: across the hall from Jerry's place is not Kramer's door, there is a painting on the wall instead. Also the number on Jerry's door is "8". Jerry also has a bay window with a telescope.

in the episode of 'mad about you' where paul buchman visits kramer, he asks kramer about jerry and kramer tells him that jerry is writing a sitcom for nbc...but in 'the betrayal' he can actually seen when jerry first moves into his apartment, kramer is already in his apartment...so how did paul buchman know jerry???

The name kessler was actually the original name that they intended to cal kramer throughout the show but decided that kramer was more fitting.

In this first episode, Kramer is also much more of a kook than the more outgoing hipster persona he eventually developed into.

if you really want to get technical than the explanation that's given in "the betrayal" isn't even correct. in the betrayal, they show Jerry and Kramer meeting for the very first time. and Kramer tells jerry that his name is in fact Kramer and not Kessler. so in "the seinfeld chronicles", Jerry would still have no reason to call him Kessler, assuming that this takes place after they first met (which is obviously true).

Kessler is the name Larry David gave to the Kramer caracter initialy. The reason is that the Kramer caracter is based on a real human being (believe it or not); Larry David's neihghoor called ... Kramer. To avoid problem with the real Kramer, Larry decided to name him Kessler. But Jerry felt so much in love with the name Kramer that he persuade Larry to rename him Kramer.

I don't know about y'all, but I like the theme music in this episode. I suppose if they'd kept it, it wouldn't have been the same but it reminds of a poppy industrial sound.

Larry David had a neighbor in NYC that lived across the hall from him....his name was/is Kessler. Thus the initial reference to the name in the pilot.

sorry, zing. but Larry David's neighbor was in fact name Kramer. And so, being worried that by using his name, he might ask for money or possibly sue the show, the writers decided to use the name Kessler. But jerry loved the name Kramer so much that they decided to use it!

in the coffee shop at the beginning, george doesnt drink any of his coffee during the conversation at all, he only drinks 2 sips after the waitress comes back and gives her 2 cents on the situation. im sure that the caffine in coffee takes more than 9 seconds to kick in... maybe he shouldve taken a drink earlier?
i have too much time
