Yeah, I noticed that opposite comment by George too. The episode was on last night and that's the first time I connected that.

There's a video floating around on bittorrent. though named as "seinfeld.00x00.pilot.good.new.bad.news.pdtv.xvid.avi"
I assume whoever ripped this didn't know the episode's title and I can't find any episode by that name on your guide.
anyway, could this really be the pilot episode?.
I guess I'll know soon.

Some sites call the first episode good news, bad news.

The comment about the caffeine is interesting becasue we later learn from george that jerry never drinks anythign with caffeine in it. Elaine mentions when he drinks something with caffeine he gets all hyper. not so in the first episode.

Stan, i watched a Seinfeld last night that was a part of the Chronicles i'm guessing. It was with the lady staying at jerry's house but i didn't see kramers door and so forth. is there different shows of the chronicles or just one episode.

Jerry's apartment looked so weird, with the back of the couch facing the door. I'm glad they changed it, it was annoying. Also, the hallway is different color. I dont remember seeing the 5A his door, but I might have not been paying attention.

passer-by, maybe initially Jerry and George weren't going to include Elaine in "The Pilot", but her character is definately there after Elaine convinces Russell to allow "Jerry" to continue...

Did you ever notice that when it first shows Jerry's apartment, he's wearing red pants and a blue shirt (superman colors), while eating cereal and watching the Met game? It looks like they were dropping subtle characterizations to Jerry's personality.

It is obvious that Elaine was desparately needed after watching the first Seinfeld episode. It seems like there is a missing link when I watch this. There is not enough happening in the episode with Elaine absent. It was a smart idea on the show's part to add her to the cast.

Sorta funny, too, how in the first episode Jerry is painted rather clueless about women with GEORGE the authority.

Also, is this the only episode where Kramer is supposed to have a dog. Or was that just a stray? Smile

Finally, and this is really a small item, Kramer seems to just partially tear out whatever it is he finds of interest in Jerry's magazine, but when Jerry gives him the snake-eye the article is fully removed and in Kramer's hand when the camera returns to him............

Note: Jerry is wearing "red" sweat pants not "blue" and Blue sweat shirt not "red". Also, yes, the cabnets are brown, but how do you know they are empty??? They are never opened and you can't see through them so why do you assume they are empty??? Get your facts strait.

Note: across the hall from Jerry's place is not Kramer's door, there is a painting on the wall instead. Also the number on Jerry's door is "8". Jerry also has a bay window with a telescope.

in the episode of 'mad about you' where paul buchman visits kramer, he asks kramer about jerry and kramer tells him that jerry is writing a sitcom for nbc...but in 'the betrayal' he can actually seen when jerry first moves into his apartment, kramer is already in his apartment...so how did paul buchman know jerry???

The name kessler was actually the original name that they intended to cal kramer throughout the show but decided that kramer was more fitting.

In this first episode, Kramer is also much more of a kook than the more outgoing hipster persona he eventually developed into.
