The Jimmy - episode 105

Jerry says to Elaine: "Hey, by the way, did you ever call that guy from the health club.?" Elaine says "Oh yeah! Jimmy." (still thinking that the guy who spoke in the third person, was the guy who gave her Jimmy's number).

Now, when Elaine called the number and thought she was speaking with the man she liked (Hank), wouldn't she have noticed the way the person on the other end was talking in the third person? Wouldn't she have known it was the same guy who gave her the phone number at the health club?

They should've wrote it so Elaine would think Jimmy was setting her up with Hank, instead of having her make a phone call. Then Jerry could find out and give her the real scoop.

The Jimmy- episode 105

Jimmy's brazen illeism( act of referring to oneself in third-person as in Julius Caeser in "Commentarii de Bello Gallico") did help the writers make up another impossible Seinfeld eposide but the logical anomaly( carelessness on part of the writers) did precipitate an unpleasant debate with my friends. It happened when I was watching The Jimmy on a rather dull weekday afternoon with my friend ( who BTW is a Seinfeld-junkie...unlike me who just likes it as just another sitcom with a difference, specializing on pettiness, which I dig) I got into an argument. He couldn't be made to understand this fairly simple logical problem with Elaine's behaviour( He was all "look into her eyes", "see her expressions", ...."rewind and play it again"...anyways!). From what Elaine says when Jerry tells her that Jimmy refers to himself in third person and with pretty lucid examples( "Did you notice he always refer to himself in the third person.
Jimmy can dunk. Jimmy's new in town. Jimmy will see you, to best of my knowledge the name Jimmy is not used in the sense of guy/ fellow /uknown person /male et we use, say Joe or John Doe or simply a pronoun). Also, as we all know Elaine is not a dumb chick, and neither is she potrayed so. All there is to it is that Elaine seemed to have known the necessary and sufficient( super-sufficient, unless there a condition which can only be understood by those who understand her expressions and "how" she said the words "No No... That's not him. That's the guy who gave me... Jimmy's number.")

I'll tell you what. Why don't you re-read your post, and let's just see if you can explain it to me.

It's probably my English( being a non native speaker) and my incomplete sentences and my excessive parentheses or probably I'm just mistaken. Somebody willing to let a better light in is welcome and the inevitable comment like Todd's is welcome too.
