Okay, when that thread title is a little too formal.

I just wanted to share with everyone what I think this forum is about, and how members should act. I have received numerous reports of some members behaving in a way that doesn't seem to fit the spirit of Seinfeld or this site.

Like Seinfeld, this site is about nothing. It should be funny -- comedy for the sake of comedy, I always say. It is a place for die-hard Seinfeld fans to discuss the show, test trivia knowledge, and more. It is supposed to be fun, and everyone is invited. Like Seinfeld, smart sarcasm, especially using Seinfeld-humor, is welcomed!

That's what I think, anyway. What do think?

It bothers me when I hear that some people at times go against the spirit of the site, by attacking other members and other mean-spirited talk. I think that takes away from the value of this community. I ask that all members please try to act in the spirit of Seinfeld when posting on this site. I think that would make the site better for everyone.

Daddy's home and he's gonna hand out spankin's. We should have behaved. I feel like a little kid in the backseat who just got swatted. And yet Bookman's finger is still on my side of the seat!

Couldn't agree more, Stan, and thanks for making a well-timed visit. I especially appreciate the part about "everyone is invited".

Now, how about that spell chekcer? Smile

Long time no see Stan. I've been trying to hold down around here, I get rid of the spam and really weird stuff a lot, but I have been extremely busy recently and haven't had the time to sift through threads and make sure there's nothing crazy going on in there.

Time is starting to free up, and anytime soon, I should be back on my regular pace, the way I was a couple months ago. Which means posting, instead of just moderating. I have said before, if people see anything that needs to be fixed, they can email me, it's right there with every post I make, just click my name. Any of the usuals around here I can even give out my AIM/Yahoo adress to (i.e. Gendison, Jimmy, Ramon, Bookman, Jackie etc.) and I can be reached that way if necessary. I think it might be nice for the more "regular" members to get to know each other a bit maybe. I am on the computer a lot, and am dedicated to this site, it's my first Seinfeld love. I'll admit I belong to one of the "competitors", but they don't stack up to the people/content here.

Basically, in a bit I'll be back to normal posting. Also feel free to email me (or AIM) if you see anything that definately needs to be removed.

VL, as an aside, I've noticed that there has been A LOT less spam here than there used to be and what does appear, disappears quickly. If that's been as a result of your efforts, THANKS!

Thanx Stan. Glad to hear from you. This place is great and we would all like to keep it that way. Glad you care, too. And Veg, a moderator is like a ref. You don't notice the good ones, which mean you've been doing a great job. I hope that didn't sound sarcastic, it is a compliment. Wishing everyone a great week end. Very Happy

Thanks for not mentioning me, Veg. I never had any intention of becoming a regular anyway. Wink

It's been like Lord of the Flies here. Just didn't know who would eventually suffer the same outcome as Piggy.

I like the idea of having a code of conduct. Seems like a lot of pride in that, a lot of tradition.

Well, that was actually Jerry speaking (with quotations and speaking in first person).

I have been trying to cut down on the spam Jackie, and it seems to be going pretty good. I got rid of those medication spammers too, if anyone remembers them. There was a group of them, and I have a feeling they have a proxy ip changer thingy, cause they kept coming back for awhile. But hey, I'm just here to make the forums easier to get around, and hopefully better in some way.

Gendison, thank you for the compliment, we all know you don't give out a lot of those Wink

Cousin Jeffrey, I'm reading that book right now. I didn't know Piggy dies!!

Thanx Veg...actually, I give out compliments when they're warranted. I don't just hrow them out there willy nilly. Peace out, bro.

I didn't mind the medication spammers much. They gave me a chance to take my hostility out on strangers to this site. Maybe Veg could let one slip past the goalie once in awhile.

I hope I'll be allowed to say this. I'm not trying to stir anything negative up, and it's not addressed to anyone in particular, just a prediction...and I hope I'm wrong.

I think things are going to sway so far the other way now that people are going to be scared to disagree or even be a little sarcastic. I will agree that things might have gotten out of hand for a few days and I'll take my part of the blame for that. But now I find myself weighing every word before I type, and thinking twice before even posting in the first place. And I can tell everyone else is doing the same thing, too.

That might be a natural result of things going to far the other way, but I also hope it swings back to the middle soon, so that a little disagreement doesn't send someone running to "daddy" or threatening to never come back here ever again.

I'd hate this place to be like the 80's where everything was so sterile and white-washed it was almost surreal.

Just my 2 cents....deride if you must.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue..... I'm not weighing my words carefully, Gendison. Anybody got a problem with that?
