I know this actress played the prostitute in The Wig Master and had some minor roles in other pictures.

Does anyone have any biography information? I understand she passed away in 2001 due to a heart problem.

Sad.

Gina Masterogiacomo was a classmate of
mine at SVA.
She was a gifted artist in painting and
other visual arts.
Very funny and caring.
A good friend.
I didn't know until 2 weeks ago that she was
gone.
After college we drifted apart.
But our last phone conversation we had
she said she was going to make it.
Next thing I know . . . Jungle Fever then
Good Fellas.
I'm very proud of you Gina.
I'll miss you.

I met Gina in LA back in 1998. I have not talked to her in awhile, but I tried to call her many times wondering what had happened to her. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. When I read it on the internet it came as such a shock to me. I thought she had moved back with her family in New York. She talked about them all the time. My condolences go out to her family. She was such a wonderful person with a great gift for making you laugh. She will be missed. I miss you Gina, but I know that you are shining down on us from up above.

I was classmate of Gina's at SVA. We became friends as we both lived on Long Island and loved going to Long Beach together. Sometimes she would invite me back to her house. Her family was very warm and loving. After school we both worked in NYC and then she headed out to Hollywood. We spoke about twice over the next 10 years since she was always so busy. I'm so glad she got to pursue her dream and that she attained a measure of success in film. I was very disheartened to learn that she had passed away. I have tried finding her family and friends but have had no luck.

She was such a down to earth girl next door. When I asked her for an autographed picture for my office she just laughed it off. How I wish I had pressed the issue!

My dear Gina Rose, may your spirit shine on all the lives you have touched. We are all blessed to have known you.......

Does anyone know where she is buried and have a copy of her obituary?

Thanks,

Robert

P.S. Naomi, where are you and your sisters these days?

What a horrible loss! I met Gina in L.A. back in 91-92. We met through her good friend Limor from Haifa,Israel. Who I have also unfortunately lost contact with.

We had such a wonderful time! She was full of life! Her Apartment off sunsett blvd at the time was always full of friends who would often visit.

What a loss to the arts! We will all miss her!

I remember Gina from junior high school in Oceanside, NY. She was full of life and very funny. I remember her wearing a girl scout uniform to school when pledging a sorority.
Glad to see she was successful in life.

A couple of things. Firstly, I remebr this woman being knocked out by this woman's stunning beauty, and loved her in Goodfellas, my favourite film ( I'm English ! ). Secondly, around the time of Gina's tragic passing I was in hospital suffering from severe endocarditis which required emergency surgery - I was extremely luck to survive, as that was the second time I'd had it.

Her passing struck a real chrod with me.

RIP

Hi Naomi, sometimes called Nomes, Kim, Amy

Not too much time passes between when I last thought about Gina Rose and when I will think about her next. When you love somebody and they die, a part of you dies
also and a part of them lives on in you.Thank you Gina Rose for being part of my life. Naomi, you can call me or email me

I recently watched Jungle Fever for the first time in several years and was thinking what happened to that actress - I recognized her from goodfellas - who played one of Sciorra's friends. Until yesterday I didn't know her name until I went on the web. I am deeply saddened to learn of Gina's passing. Hope the subsequent years since her death have brought you some degree of peace.
RIP Gina.

We had an ice cream together in 1990 on Columbus Ave in NYC. She was very nice. I remember she took interest in an elderly lady next to us and they exchanged some kind words. Later, I admired her professional work.

I just saw Gina on TV , and thought I should look her up on Facebook. She only had a public page and I wanted to make contact with her, so I looked her up on Wikipedia. That is when I found out about her passing back in 2001. ( It's 2012 now). I loved Gina, we met at Gold's Gym in Venice. We dated a few times back when she lived on Alta Vista near Sunset Blvd.Back in 1990-91. The last time that I saw her was about 1998 at the Virgin Megastore. I am so sad to hear of her death. She was a lovely woman, I really enjoyed her.I will miss her.

I was at Gina's funeral as a guest of my now ex. I remember the lovely service and peaceful Buddhist ceremony. Unbelievable that dad passed so soon after...I remember in detail his beautiful story of the bird that flew into the bathroom window that day and died...how it was a sign...my deepest condolences for all of the post occurrences. Sending love and well wishes. Words cannot lessen pain...time will hopefully lessen it however.

I just came to the information that Gina was no longer with us... this many years later. Gina and I did a film together called East Side Story. It was probably one of her first. What an amazing spirit! I'm so heartbroken. She and I shared sister and brother kittens we snuck onto the set in our coat pockets. Hers was Grey and mine Black. My God how precious life is... God bless you beautiful spirit. I know you are in a better place. Thank you for being so beautiful!!!
