As I was watching the pie episode tonight I realized why Audrie (Papi's daughter Papi does very well very well) did not taste the pie...

As you will notice just as the pie comes on the table Jerry suggests that she tastes it after he's taken a few bites of his own... It is concievable to assume that Audrie does not like mingling utensils in food... sort of a "You dipped the chip, you took a bite, and then you dipped again!" Catch my drift? Smile

She could have asked for a new fork, and then taken a taste if she really wanted to. If she carries Entemanns donuts in her purse, then she's not adverse to pastry, in fact, she must love it, to carry donuts in her purse.

true... she could have asked for another fork... but Jerry was already knee deep in the pie and he had already used the same fork he put in his mouth to scoop up more pie Wink so yes... i assume she wasn't gaga over him, also supported by the absence of a kissing or closeness scene

uhhh....It's a TV show people. There doesn't HAVE to be a reason for her not tasting it.... just like there is no actual Christmas card with Elaine's nipple!

An actor is given the "motivation" for a character by the director. So the director must have given "Audry" a motivation for refusing the pie. And yes, Bob Sakamano, we KNOW its a TV show...and it's our favorite and we enjoy the theorizing about the plots and characters, so lighten up! Maybe Audry had just come from a date with another guy, and already ate some pie, and wasn't hungry, but she didn't want Jerry to know she was seeing someone else that same day. Rolling Eyes Wink

hehhehe that whore Very Happy

or just maybe she can eat any food in front of people except for desert... Maybe she orgasms when she eats deserts, which would explain the donuts in her purse and the lack of physical activity with Jerry!

Geez, everytime I think of this episode I remember a hair on the plate or the pie. But when I watch it or read the script....there's no hair.

The HAIR was on the cinnamon bobka, remember, in The Dinner Party. George and Kramer went to get the wine (George wanted to bring Pepsi) and Jerry and Elaine went to get cake. Those snotty people bought the last chocolate bobka so they settled for the cinnamon, and there was a hair on it. Jerry told Elaine that when he was a kid he freaked out because there was a hair in his farina. But I have a new theory on why Audry didn't eat the pie...as you will notice, each time the other characters refuse the pie with psychotic head-shaking, it was because they had witnessed someone who was responsible for the pie, and knew that it was tainted. Perhaps Audry had been in the restroom and the waitress didn't wash up?????? Wink

Well...heres what I think...THERE IS NO REASON...thats waht makes it funny, it makes you try to come up with your own reason. Thats the comedy of it. Its about nothing...just like the show Very Happy

I support that theory to a degree based on precedent (that Audry doesn't eat dessert in front of guys).

I remember asking an x-girlfriend to go get something to eat and she said she NEVER eats anything in front of a single guy there's potential with (excluding married men who she was comfortable with).

So, based on precedent, I think it is safe to assume that there are other similar women in the world (i.e. Audry) who feels the same way (only about pie).

This is like being at work years ago and listening to two grown men argue over whether or not a (non-existent) weapon could or couldn't destroy the Enterprise! It's a TV show! Why Audrey didn't taste the pie... why Elaine's neighbor had so many potatoes in his apartment...or why Kramer didn't need a job, was because writers create things to purposely mystify viewers and stir up controversy. If the writers don't know why, then WE'LL certainly never know why, because there ARE no reason why.
