You guys probably won't believe me, and why should you, you don't know me from Adam....

I met Seinfeld! Even more interesting, he knows about this site! I was in NYC on business, when i decided to stop by a local stand up place that i heard Seinfeld frequents. There were two no name comics on the bill, but i didn't care, i just wanted to see something funny, plus, i have also heard that Seinfeld enjoys the pop-in (even though his char. on seinfeld isn't a fan) The first act was ok, and the second was better. Just as i was about to leave, however, i noticed in the rear of the room, someone was signing autographs. I didn't see his face at first, but i heard his unmistakable voice. I got up and walked over to the table, and there he was. I introduced myself, and told him how big a fan i was. Having seen the recent American Express ads, i of course asked him if he and superman were meeting up later, which got a chuckle out of him, but little more than a smile. Then the coolest thing ever happend, he asked me if i wanted to sit down. OF COURSE!!! So there i sat, chatting it up with the master of observational humor. I asked him about his family, friends, stand up career, etc. Then i thought of this site. I asked him if he was aware of the rabid internet fanbase he had, and he replied, no kidding, 'I hear things'. It was just like from the show! I asked him if he had ever heard of, and he replied with a smile, "Yea, i've been there." I was of course amazed by this, seeing as how he has been to the same place as me, just never really knew it. But what the hell was i thinking, He is sitting right in front me! At this point, feeling like a million dollars, i tell him thank you, and asked him sign a napkin on the table. He did, and like a school boy on speed I walked merrily out of there, feeling like a new person.

Oddly enough, the last thing he said to me before i walked out of there was, say hi to Stan for me.....

You can't even imagine the feeling i felt as i talked to him, it was like i was a teenage girl at an nsync concert. I just wanted to SCREAM!

Well, i hope you believe this story, as it is completly true, but what do i care if you do or dont....... I MET SEINFELD!!!

When you got up from the table you should have said "Thank you, you have been very helpful and please allow me to get the tip."

If I met Seinfeld I would ask him why they ended Seinfeld so suddenly.
I mean you can just see that the crew didn't feel like making Seinfeld episodes anymore.

F*cking cool man!
Can you post a photo of the napkin?
You lucky b*sterd!

Carl M.,

Did Jerry say to say "hi" or just "send his regards"? Smile

I believe you Carl, that's pretty cool. Do tell, what was the name of the comedy club - I definitely want to pop-in myself if I ever happen to be in the area. And if you have a scan or photo of the napkin, email it to me at and I will post it to the site.

Did he invite you to the movies this weekend ("This weekend. WOW!")? When you see, can you ask him if he can get me tickets to one of his shows in Toronto on May 7 or 8th? All they have is "partially obstructed view" single seats available for like $129 (napkin autograph not included)!

And Jerry, if you're reading this, you and Larry are welcome anytime to join in the discussions Smile I can even create a new section where you can test out new material.

Did you tell him you got the pen you give him to sign with from Jack Klompus?

That's cool to have met Jerry. Make sure the chamber maid doesn't throw out that napkin! Smile

I would have just liked to shake his hand, tell him what big a fan I am, and thank him for all the memories the show and his stand up has given me!

Honestly guys, my mind was a complete blank. It was all i could do to keep from stuttering every time i spoke. In 'hindsight' i wish i had said some of those things, the pen remark in particular.

Congrats Carl. I am glad to see that from your story Jerry Seinfeld is a very personable person. I was never sure based on his character as most actors say that their characters are taken from something about their lives.

That's awesome. I am so happy for you.
