i've just finished reading a seinfeld biography written by Josh Levine. and it's a pretty good book charting the sein's rise through the comedy ranks and his poor tv debut on benson (writers' fault).
then it gets to the show and at first there are some funny lines from shows. but then the writer spoils it by giving his rather conservative opinion about a couple of episodes, firstly the contest Read the script of the contest Download the full epiosde video of the contest Discuss the contest (which according to the book Larry David wrote in a weekend) his problem with this episode is the fact that Elaine takes part. he says "even Elaine participates, a fact that some right-minded people considered particularly offensive" he then goes on to slate the handicap spot Read the script of the handicap spot Download the full epiosde video of the handicap spot Discuss the handicap spot he calls it "a rare dud" then says " The scenario is the occassion for a lot of crude handicapped jokes that, besides being insensitive, aren't very funny." then saying how it wasn't very well received in the US (is this true?)
in finishing not a bad book, shame about the opinions.

can you imagine what he'd have thought about episodes to come like the lip reader Read the script of the lip reader Download the full epiosde video of the lip reader Discuss the lip reader (trivializing the plight of the deaf) or the finale Read the script of the finale Download the full epiosde video of the finale Discuss the finale (where they actually laugh at a fat man being mugged TUT! TUT! TUT!; you ought to be ashamed)

No you shouldn't it's good to laugh at other peoples defects it makes us realise were not that bad off after all Wink

What he probably doesnt get is that the whole basis of the show was to do the worst things possible. To get offended about it means they don't understand the entire mindset behind the show.
