i've just finished reading a seinfeld biography written by Josh Levine. and it's a pretty good book charting the sein's rise through the comedy ranks and his poor tv debut on benson (writers' fault).
then it gets to the show and at first there are some funny lines from shows. but then the writer spoils it by giving his rather conservative opinion about a couple of episodes, firstly
(which according to the book Larry David wrote in a weekend) his problem with this episode is the fact that Elaine takes part. he says "even Elaine participates, a fact that some right-minded people considered particularly offensive" he then goes on to slate
the handicap spot
he calls it "a rare dud" then says " The scenario is the occassion for a lot of crude handicapped jokes that, besides being insensitive, aren't very funny." then saying how it wasn't very well received in the US (is this true?)
in finishing not a bad book, shame about the opinions.
