For those of us who have to get up at 5:00am, what did we miss? Anything interesting or noteworthy?

He did some stand-up on prescription drugs and drug commercials. He talked about his family. He plugged the DVDs and the special airing on NBC on Thanksgiving.

I also heard on the radio this morning that the whole cast (all 4 of em') will be on Oprah sometime near the 23rd...set your VCRs.

I watched the Letterman show just for the Seinfeld bit but was sorely disappointed. It was okay, but not nearly as funny as some of his earlier work. Just my opinion. Dave was funny mocking Jerry for putting out the DVDs because "he hasn't made any money off the show yet." Nothing great but it was still Seinfeld, so worth the effort.

I agree. His stand up wasn't all that strong, but I think he was just pitching some new material. The funniest thing he said, IMO, was while talking to Dave, about coffee shops.

Paraphrased:
"I don't get these people that go to coffee shops... they get their coffe and then hang around. Get your coffee, then get the hell out! It's like suddenly they become very important people, you know, with the laptop, and the palm pilot. You don't see this happening at a pizza joint."

Man, I was laughing for like 20 minutes after this.

That pizza joint comment was good. The other good one was the possibility leaving dinner with a member of your party upside down and screaming.

I find myself disappointed by live Jerry, although he's always funny. But I think it's because I subconsciously compare him to sitcom Jerry, where all the lines are scripted by consensus and in context are killer. Basically, the show is way more entertaining than his standup. But both are great so it's a win win. Always good to see him perform.

I always thought that Jerry's standup routine at the beginning and end of each episode was unnecessary and lame. I was grateful and joyous when they finally jettisoned that format...
