Shouldn't of Jerry said one year early in the millennium b/c if he was having the party for 2000 it would have been early not late. Am I correct?

Jerry's line from The Millennium
Oh, that's interesting, because as everyone knows, since there was no
year zero, the millennium doesn't begin until the year two-thousand and one.
Which would make your party, one year late, and thus, quite lame.

yea he would have been having the party in 2000, meaning it would be the eve of 2001, and not the rollover to 2000, when everyone partied.

newman and kramer were both getting thier party ready for nye 2000. when booking the party back in 197?, he reserved it for "the millenium new years eve". so by that comment, jerry did not mean that he was a year late for the millenium, he meant that he reserved it for a year later than he thought. so by reserving his party for the millenium, he was a year later than he intended, a year after the party that kramer was throwing, and did not in fact have the rotating hotel above times square, or christopher cross, reserved for when he was inviting everyone.

I see what you mean, fatman (no pun intended). But if that was the case, then all Newman would have had to do is re-send the invitations, since he'd still have reservations for the 'actual' new millenium's eve. So I still think that Jerry was making fun of him for not actually havin the 'millenium party' on millenium's eve, ...'thus making it quite lame...oooohhhhhhh!'
I think it was a script error and he should have said 'one year early'.

true, and that would still be the case, newman could have just resent them the following year. but although nye 2000 was the actual millenium nye, nye 1999 was a much bigger deal. no one ever wrote a song saying "we're gonna party like it's 2000". to get technical, the night turning into 2001 is the millenium new years, but the night turning into 2000 was much more celebrated. so while everyone was celebrating the huge party on dec. 31st 1999, newman's was not until a year later on the actual eve of the millenium, one that was not as big of a deal, hence making it "quite lame".
