Stan,

I was very disappointed to see that you have required Kazaa to download your Seinfeld episodes. Kazaa is know to have software that adversly affects your PC which includes spyware and other programs that I or other don't want installed.

I thought that we were in this together. By doing this I know that you are driving others, such as I, away from your site. Shame on you. You must be getting greedy with this recent move toward Kazaa.

Signed,

Disappointed Seinfeld fan Mad Mad

First of all. Have you heard of KL?

Second of all, why should StanTheCaddy spend 6,98gb (thats how much space all the episodes needs) on his server?

stroft,

A few points:

1) I have not "required Kazaa" to download the episodes. The episodes can be download via normal HTTP download by using the links on the old videos page. So if you prefer not to use Kazaa, please use these links.

2) I have provided the Kazaa option as a way to offer faster downloads to Seinfeld fans. The normal web downloads were getting very busy and very slow. Since I can't afford a faster connection with 7GB of space, the Kazaa method is best way to improve the speed. Millions of people already have Kazaa installed, so it may be convenient for them also.

3) Yes, the adware and spyware can be a real pain in the ass. And version 2.6 is more annoying that previous versions, I must admit. KL may be a short-term solution to this but the makers of Kazaa are blocking KL nodes in recent software versions.

4) I am always open to other suggestions about the best and faster way to deliver the video downloads.

Regards,

Stan

Stan: I appreciate what you're doing.
Regarding your fourth point:
have you considered using bittorrent to distribute the episodes?

g man, yes I have thought about it. I have decided to try Kazaa first because 1) it seems that bitorrent downloaders tend to share files for only short periods of time, and 2) many people already have Kazaa on their computers, making it easier for them.

I may still try BT at some point, to see if people might like that option.

Hi, I'm a Seinfeld fan trying to download all the episodes on a Mac. I'm using Limewire (also for Windows) which is fairly quick and easy to use. And, as far as I know, doesn't have any adware or spyware.

Anyone else here on Limewire interested in sharing episodes? I've only got about 15 but I just started collecting them yesterday Very Happy

Slap bassingly yours,
Alef

If you know enough to be worried about spyware, you should be able to find plenty of ways to avoid it.

Google for Kazaa Lite K++ and install it. It's Kazaa withoutthe spyware, and with a good many more features already included.

Check out www.lavasoft.com and download Ad-Aware. Run it properly, and it should clean out any spyware already on your computer.

I'd much rather have the episodes available on Kazaa (I collected 96% of the episodes before finding this site) than bittorrent.

For those that have bittorrent you can get the episodes at http://www.suprnova.org. You can d/l the whole package at once, 7 gb, it's a lot faster than Kazaa too. Because those that are downloading the file are sharing it at the same time.

Here is a link to download KaZaA Lite. Don't pay for the stupid crap at those scam sites like filesharingcenter.com. They charge you to get KaZaA Lite, which is free.

woo stan this is an excellent site, i only discovered it a few months ago but i'm here at least daily checking out the forum and to see if quotes are updated...top stuff.
regarding downloads, i managed to download every episode of seinfeld off kazaa lite...granted some episodes (particularly the earlier ones) took a long time but ultimately i found kazaa to be adequate (make sure u get kazaa lite)
i recently got limewire and found it to be much quicker than kazaa, but unfortunately it kept doing something bad to my computer (i'm not a computer tech head) which caused it to freeze all the time...something about taking up too much memory..anyway i'm stuck with kazaa which i find is pretty good, if a little slow.
Stroft u are a wanker, the nerve of u to come on this site and accuse its creator of being a sellout. The amount of time and effort that has gone into the site simply to provide seinfeld fans with a place to congregate and reflect on this magnificent show, simply for u to whinge about one little aspect which could easily be avoided if u weren't such a mug anyway...do u expect stan to fund 7 gigs of webspace so u can have free and easy downloads?
"shame on stan"? shame on u u ingrate, if u don't like it bugger off and leave this service for people that really appreciate the effort that stan has put in

Check out Diet K. It's an add on program for Kazaa that will remove all of the bundled software and give you some really cool features. Whats great about DK is that unlike KL, it's completely legal to run (it may not be depending on what you download), and unlike KL, it connects to the same supernonde network as the most recent Kazaa.
