Does anyone remember which episode kramer invents a tipping strategy, where he puts a stack of one dollars bills on the table,(represting the waiters tip) and every time the waiter messed up he took away from the stack, decreasing the potential tip of the waiter?

That is from "The Puerto Rican Day Parade".

The reason hardly anyone knows about it (except for Seinfeld-savvy people like yourself, cutpasghost) is because that particular episode has been deemed to be highly offensive to "associates" by television's Standards and Practices, and therefore has never been show in syndication. Ever.

Sorry, but you'll have to buy the entire series on dvd to watch that scene. That ensures good business. You see, you're not a viewer, you're a customer. That's the genius of it.

Of course it's only been five years. Maybe cutpasghost is rotting in an alley somewhere. Or maybe he's dead.

Are you kidding me, Curly? You mean you don't have every line from Seinfeld committed to memory by now? Well, that is a sad display...

Scene at Monks Coffee Shop-

ELAINE: Do you know how embarrassing this is to someone in my position?

JERRY: What is your position?

ELAINE: I am an "associate".

GEORGE: Hey, me too.

WAITRESS: Yeah, me too.

And then later in the show Peterman threatens to strip Elaine of her "Associate" status? No? Not ringing any bells? Nothing gettin' through? I bet I know why. The bags are all piled up, huh?

I guess the associates don't like being associated with all those losers.

Hi! I want to use the "tipping strategy" clip in a presentation I'm giving but cannot find this anywhere. I watched the Puerto Rican Day Episode - very funny, but that's not it. Seinfeld fans - please help!

By the way, The Puerto Rican Day Parade had been shown in syndication a number of times in early years — but not for many years since.

I'm guessing not since at least 2004... give or take.

I have never seen one episode of The Puerto Rican Day Parade... in syndication... in my life... ever.

The way I understand it is that NBC was the network that refused to ever show it in syndication. But, TBS and Fox quit airing it later on after more outrage. Then, Fox began showing it again a handful of times, but TBS never did. Fox eventually quit, too.

I don't have any time references... but that's the gist of it, that I can remember.

You did not watch '3rd Rock from the Sun' close enough:

Season 5 episode 7 'Sex and the Sally"

Synopsis:
Mary is horrified when she learns that Dick has been pocketing all the tip money she has left at restaurants, but Dick is baffled by the concept of tipping, and attempts to re-invent it by placing a stack of one dollar bills on the table and informing the waitress that when she pleases him, the pile will grow, and when not, it will shrink.,/b> Mary, however, informs him that this idea is demeaning. Meanwhile, Sally goes on the pill after Tommy informs her that she could become pregnant by having sex with Don, but begins to experience erratic mood swings and food cravings.
