My husband and I have a bet about Kramer's original occupation on Seinfeld. Does anyone know if Kramer has ever had a job? Please settle this loving dispute!

Kramer worked at H&H Bagels before going on strike for 12 years, that's the only real job I can remember.

THANK YOU!! I knew the wife was correct. Husband is still insisting that Kramer was an out-of-work stand-up comedian. I have NEVER seen anything relating to Kramer being a comic.

The stand-up comedian thing is probably confusion with Kenny Kramer, the "real Kramer" that the Kramer character is based on. Kenny used to be a stand-up comedian and other things before devoting himself fulltime to running his "Seinfeld tours" of New York.

As for Cosmo Kramer, his means of support is one of the little mysteries of the show. As far as I know the bagels job mentioned was the only job he had. Smile

In The Strongbox, we find out that Cosmo was in the army for a short time...

Kramer: "Come on, Jerry, this is a security issue. Boy, you wouldn't last a
day in the Army."

Jerry, going into the hall with Elaine: "How long did you last?"

Kramer: "Well, that's classified."

I don't know if you'd count these jobs, but Kramer was the head man at Kramerica with Darren as his student, and he there was that show where he was fired from his job that he really didn't have.

Boss: Well, we'll just have to let you go.
Kramer: I don't even really work here.
Boss: That's what makes this so difficult.

Once again Kramer owned the book, he did not write it. He means 'my book' as in he ownes it. He bought it at a store. The same way a person says my car, you didn't build it Rolling Eyes
