The company george works for is called Rick Barr Properties. He refers to his boss as rick in the bar. Earlier in the show and in the credits he is Levitan. What is this guys name? Rick Barr? Rick Levitan? Is Barr someone else? Anyone?

The character's name is Rick Levitan. The Notes About Nothing call him Rick Levitan, which makes sense, because everybody in the show who refers to him uses "Rick" or "Levitan." (The closing credit uses "Levitan" without a first name.)

So who is Rick Barr? Maybe he's the owner, and Levitan is the President or CEO. Maybe Levitan bought the business from Rick Barr and didn't change the name.

It was only named Rick Baaaahhhrr properties so it would be a John Houseman-like name. Rick Lehhhhvitan properties didn't quite cut muster.

I think that episode is about an actual experience from Larry David's life.

I think the story goes back to when Larry David was so upset working on Saturday Night Live that he stormed into the office of his boss, I guess it would have been Dick Ebersol, and quit on a Friday and then on Monday he showed up at work like nothing happened after, on thw weekend, a friend discussed with him how much money he was losing.

Whether that Rick guy is supposed to be Dick Ebersol I'd really like to know.
