LISTEN UP stars Jason Alexander in a comedy about a well-regarded sports talk show host and columnist who struggles to get the respect and admiration from his family that he gets from his fans. Based on the writings of real-life sports commentator and columnist Tony Kornheiser, Tony Kleinman (Alexander) is an irreverent sports show host who banters about all things sports with his witty sidekick, Bernie Widmer (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), a former football player turned sports show host, on their television talk show, "Shut Up and Listen." Tony has also begun writing a humorous syndicated newspaper column that includes commentary on his family who are less than thrilled to have their trials and tribulations made public. Tony's wife, Dana (Wendy Makkena) works as a fundraiser. While not a sports fan, she is always supportive of her paranoid and obsessive-but-loving husband. Megan (Daniella Monet) is the Kleinmans' know-it-all, soccer-playing 14-year-old daughter. Mickey (Will Rothhaar) is their 15-year-old golf prodigy son. While Tony's inability to self-edit before broadcasting his thoughts is what makes him most endearing to his fans, it keeps his friends and family on their toes as everything could be fodder for his column.

It's like, I think, George got married with children . If you see it that way, I think it's gonna be a great show. Too bad Jerry doens't appear in it.

Tony Kornheiser , really excists ?? For wich journal does he write? Can I read it online ?

I never knew that, because I don't live in the US. I probably have to download Listen up Too somewhere, because in this country they stopped broadcasting Seinfeld. So, listen Up will never be broadcasted here. Crying or Very Sad

He has a syndicated sports talk show on the radio, and he also has a TV show called "Pardon the Interruption".

Interesting...cuz Korny's son is actually a golf prodigy. But I haven't heard him talk about his family a lot. He's not the typical loud-mouthed, unidimensionnal talk show idiot, the kind that you see over radio stations all over. He's a pretty sharp guy and from what I can gauge from his show, is prolly nothing like George.

PTI is the greatest sports talk show of all time. He is also a great columnist. Hopefully this will get Jason out of being seen as strictly George and help resurrect his career. I doubt it though which is unfortunate.

I'll check the show out of course. I think it has a chance. I try to watch Around the Horn and PTI at 5:00 and 5:30 everyday on ESPN. Funny shows and informative. Very Happy Laughing

So, You don't like to see tony kornheiser as george costanza, but as a whole new!! caracter.

You'd correct me if I'm wrong, but ( you must see the video's) When he is sitting behind that rock, he is George Costanza.
No doubt, george would do that, I think. Rolling Eyes

Jason Alexander is a true "genius" comedic actor... but Jimmy grew out of sports when he was seven. Jimmy started liking girls instead of watching grown men in pajamas fighting over rubber, bouncy balls and jumping all over each other. Jimmy probably won't relate if there is a lot of "ten-year-old-like" commentary going on all of the time.

That's ironic, seems to me Jimmy is very much into "ten-year-old-like" commentary. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Razz Razz

"Jimmy's under the boards, Jimmy's in the open, Jimmy makes the shot!"

Yeah, it's quite juvenile! Very Happy

"Jimmy's got some new moves..." I'm surprised to hear of Jimmy's dislike of sports, Jimmy's quite the b-ball player, if he says so himself. Very Happy
