That name was actually given by George, not Jerry.

From "The Strongbox"

Elaine: "If only he could have been cheating on his wife, you know, things would have been so much simpler."
George: "Who's this, Blue Arrow?"
Elaine: "Green Lantern."
Jerry: "We found out his super power was lack of money."
Elaine: "All right."
Jerry: "He's invulnerable to creditors."
Elaine: "We get it."
Jerry: "He's the 'Got-no-Green' Lantern."
Elaine: "Thank you."
Jerry: "Hey, Elaine. Maybe his girlfriend is Lois Loan."

later......

Glenn, as a woman walks in: "Oh, my God, Allison. You're home early."
Elaine: "Who is this?"
Allison: "His wife."
Elaine: "You're poor and married?"
Glenn: "Looks like it."
Allison: "Who the hell are you?"
Elaine: "I guess I'm Lois Loan."

How do you figure it was George who gave her the name?

It was George who made the Lois Loan comment, after Jerry's jokes were already played out. Then Elaine sarcastically replies, "well done."

Prickly, unless you are referring to some episode other than "The Strongbox" (which I think is the only one where Lois Loan is referenced), I believe you are mistaken. However, I will bow and scrape if proven incorrect.

George does not make the Lois Loan comment.
Jerry says, "Hey, Elaine, maybe his girlfriend is Lois Loan", to which Elaine says "Well CRAFTED".

George then says maybe the cheating thing is what he could use to ditch Maura.

On second thought, I will correct myself after quickly speaking with my son. We thought further about that scene and we do believe and agree that it WAS George who offered the Lois Loan name initially. Methinks the script provided on this site is in error.

Oooops. My last post should have merely read, "Apologies Prickly". Smile
