this is the old woman that jerry steals a loaf of marble rye from. he needs it for george so that they can replace the loaf that the costanza's took back with them when they were having dinner at susan's parents house. this old woman also appears in a later episode in florida, when jerry goes to visit his parents. apparently she is friends with jerry's mother. the old woman remembers jerry and what he did
