"Mean People Suck" bumper stickers.

Have you seen these things? More importantly, do the people who display these bumper stickers on their vehicles even realize what they actually mean?

"Mean People Suck" TRANSLATION:
"People who are constantly honking at me, flipping me off, screaming obscenities at me, getting out of their cars to try and pull me out of my car to beat me to death with a shovel because I can't drive worth a shit, and are sick and tired of of dealing with people like me everyday, suck!!"

Well, admittedly, that would be a bit long to fit across a bumper, so I can certainly understand why they shortened it down to just a few words. But still, it is very misleading. What these stickers are really saying is "I Can't Drive," which is even shorter yet, so perhaps they can change it one day.

When you hear about, or read about, a road rage incident, ask yourself..."What is the real story behind the story?" Don't be so quick to judge, or necessarily take the news anchor's side, who's always shaking his or her head in disgust. More often, we should consider Twisted Sister's head-banging anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It."

Am I condoning road rage? No. I'm merely suggesting we practice a bit of self-awareness and common sense, both when driving, as well as when we're being fed information by the media.

Let's face it. If you have one of these bumper stickers because you're experiencing an unusual amount of "mean people" on the road... try taking a quick glance in the mirror. The real problem may be much easier to solve than one might think.

And what about people who are too afraid of using urinals, but they can't even use the stall without pissing all over the seat?

Or what about these idiots that have something clever written on their shirts. Like "Take me drunk i'm home." It's just way to get a cheap laugh and to spark socializing. And when someone walks by and mentions "That's funny", some people have the nerve of saying "Thank you", like they wrote it. No, you bought it. That doesn't make you the author.

What do you want me to say?
"Yes, Jimmy, you're right. Bumper stickers that say Mean People Suck are annoying. Well done."

Do you want to start a conversation about whether bumper stickers are more about redirecting blame rather than just putting something stupid on your bumper? 'Cause I'll do it. Don't think I won't, Jimmy!!

I'm not looking for any particular responses. Just being Jimmy.

The t-shirt comment was somewhat related. I would've opened with that.

Or we could not talk about bumper stickers, altogether. How 'bout that?

People who put any bumper stickers on their car deserve to be shot. It's trashy and low class. I hate the abortion and Bush ones. I don't agree with the t-shirt thing. Guess I'm biased because I have a ton of those shirts. And yes they do spark conversation, and may get you laid. Why hate on that. Nothing wrong with saying thank you for that. I do not think I could cope with getting home without road raging. The level of stupidity out there on the road multiplies thousands of times everyday. More people are getting dumber and dumber.

Which is why in November I have to go to court to deal with this stupid old woman who pulled out in front of me in her Cadillac and caused an accident. Then had the nerve to yell at me and scream whiplash. I remained calm and polite and kept in mind that I was going to let the justice system mercilessly punish her. That hag's gonna get hers when we get to the courthouse. I'm takin every penny from her that I can. Kiss your retirement goodbye, time to work at McDonalds.

If it was up to me cars and the rules of the road would be updated to a version of "Twisted Metal"(if you don't know look it up). Blowing idiots off the road with equipped weapons in legalized duels(which also needs to be brought back). Twisted Evil

... the unhappy, the sad, the slow, the ugly, people that can't drive, if they have trouble merging, if they can't stay in their lane, if they don't signal, they can't parallel park, if they're sneezing, if they're stuffed up, if they're clogged, if they have bad penmanship, don't return calls, if they have dandruff, food between their teeth, if they have bad credit, if they have no credit, missed a spot shaving. In other words, any dysfunctional defective slob ......

Why can't a "Mean People Suck" bumpersticker mean just what it says- that mean people suck.

Why would it have to be related to driving an automobile, and more deeply, a statement on the driver himself (which I find hard to believe)?

Otherwise the sticker could mean anything at all- there would be no wrong answer. Mean People Suck. Tuberculosis!
