If one feels it necessary to begin one's thread with "I know this has probably been discussed to death before..." (as the last twenty or so threads have lately), it probably HAS! Please stop. Please! Jimmy begs of you. STOP!

Hasn't his been discussed before?

Seriously, though, I'm with the pair of you a couple hundred percent, but some that are new to the site haven't seen some of these kinds of threads before, and so don't see them as ball-crushingly boring. Let 'em have their fun. Of course, this doesn't excuse the, ahem, "new" members who really aren't so new and also comment "I'm new here so..." ! Wink

I am reminded of Jed Clampett "That's the thing about possum innards. They's just as good the second time around". These threads are decidedly not a corollary for Jed's innards.

Chiles is right...there are quite a few new ones and they should be able to list all the foods mentioned on Seinfeld if they want to. I say the new rule is this: Any "old" members stay the hell out of threads that will piss you off. Starting now.

Which brings us to a much more important issue. How much longer can we expect to discuss Seinfeld? Certainly during the few weeks when a new Season is released on DVD, there should be able to find a few things that might warrant a thread. But aside from that, have there been many threads lately that haven't been discussed before? How long do you guys expect to be on this forum? I think we've almost tapped out our well of discussion. We need to ration!

We're done. We've finished the entire Stan The Caddy Web site. There is nothing more to read or write.

Good job everyone. You've been great.

(Jimmy's gonna stop by Reggies and hang with HateTheDrake).

I think if anyone pisses in someone else's thread they ought to get a giant ball of oil dropped on their head. If it bores you leave. I do have to say the occational smart ass comment is funny but don't take it too far.
Example:
What was the ep. where Kramer taps Morty's Glasses?
The Tap
Now that was funny and unharmful!!!

'If one feels it necessary to begin one's thread with "I know this has probably been discussed to death before..." (as the last twenty or so threads have lately), it probably HAS! Please stop. Please! Jimmy begs of you. STOP!'

whereas of course, you referring to yourself in the third person is probably still screamingly original after over two thousand posts, is it?

Ya see? This is what we're all about: threads you don't have to think about.

Jimmy's giving up the third person voice... Jimmy thinks it's stupid..... Unless you guys are liking it again?

Jimmy's very unusual. Bookman likes it when Jimmy uses the third person. Bookman isn't threatened by Jimmy's use of the third person.

Here's my take on the new fake-script thread. I'm placing it here and not there because nobody should interrupt the script with anything but script notes.

If it works the way It Girl envisioned it and people add to it that way, great. Nobody could've predicted the success of Jimmy's quote thread. And I am no more tired of that than I am of Seinfeld itself.

I've tried to put quote-thread posters back on track, and Jimmy's right about the hopelessness, although I disagree "they" "never" stay on track. I do. And I'd say it's about 50-50 for everybody else, take as a whole.

The fake-script thread should have fewer problems like that, because it's already more focussed. The quote thread is a show about nothing, and the fake-script thread is the butler show. With more thought and attention to detail than most people put into the quote thread, it might be better than a butler show.

God luck with all that.
