That's the comedic equivalent of nails across a chalkboard.

But anyway, does anyone really drink alcohol for the taste? Because i don't.

Jimmy's father was the "town drunk"...... and we lived in New York City (*rim shot*). When he died he was cremated.... it took three days to put the fire out. (*rim shot*) ....... etc, etc, etc.... Rolling Eyes

Jimmy your anthem could well be "Daddy Don't Live in the New York City No More" - Steely Dan

Steely Dan...

Why do they call them Steely Dan. The guitars are wood. The drums are wood. They should call them Woody Dan.

Actually, that is not far off from the truth, as you may know.

The name is derived from an "appliance" (vibrating dildo) that has "appears" in William S. Burrough's book The Naked Lunch.

THAT'S perverse! Wink

Thanks J. Jimmy now has to throw his Steely Dan CDs away. The whole place is a biohazard.

Well, as long as they're CD's, you are not out THAT much (unless it is the Citizen Dan 4-CD set). My complete set of vinyl LP's will be pried from my fingers only upon death! Smile Course, you could give your whole batch a tour through the Kamakiriad autoclave!

Sorry to babble about The Dan. To Jackie, The Dan is to music what Seinfeld is to comedy - tough to beat. When Jackie says a complete set of vinyl, he means every first pressing of every LP - foreign and domestic.

Impressive. Jimmy's has idolized Jeff Baxter for years, and met him a few times at guitar seminars... but recently learned that he's a "Bushie." Oh well, what are ya gonna do? Confused

Yeah?! When he was with the Doobies (most of whom are from Santa Cruz - about 20 miles from me), I happened to find myself at a party or two where I libated and poked in the company of The Skunk.

I'm jealous. Though I like Steely Dan, and appreciate the song-writing and production, musicianship, etc...I just happen to dig a more "raw" sound in my rock and I find them almost too "polished". That's just personal, obviously.
But how can you not love anything that Steve Gadd plays on, along with the list of musicians too long to mention.
But, the point I'm trying to make is that, Skunk's solos are ALWAYS weird, interesting, original, and a cut above most others.

Jackie's got some memorabilia autogrpahed by Skunk somewhere. If he can find it, he will send it to Jimmy.
