I recently transferred a Seinfeld episode to disc to use in my new divx player and ran into a problem. The red and blue colors are switched, green is OK. When I use zoom 2X, the colors return to normal. I then made a divx from a DVD in my collection and it worked fine. Since the Seinfeld episodes work fine on my computer, I can't figure out why this happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - This is my first posting ever so forgive me for any forum protocols I havn't followed.

I have no idea specifically why this happened, but I can tell you that there are certain anomalies in the DivX header of most of the ArtVandelay encodes. Windows Media Player seems to handle them OK but they cause problems if you try to do anything more exotic, such as converting them to MPEG which was my problem. I suspect that what worked for me would also work for you: use an AVI editor such as Adobe Premiere or Video Edit Magic to reprocess the AVI. I believe you can download time-limited trial versions of either one to test out the concept. I really don't see how there is any other solution except to recreate the AVI this way, producing one that is more fully standards compliant and therefore more likely to work correctly in your player.

Your mention of standards compliancy was quite helpful. I re-encoded with Dr. Divx and it worked fine.

Many thanks,
