Kramer: Jerry, George got arrested.

Jerry: What?

Kramer: Yeah. He went at the Beatman, he tried to land, but they cheesed him.

Jerry: Oh now I see.

sorry if this sounds pedantic however i think kramer says "lam" not "land" as in the phrase "on the lam" meaning to run from the law.

This is such a funny episode.... Has anyone seen the clip show of Seinfeld for one of their anniversaries with the outtakes at the end? It's where Frank Castanza goes to the police station to pick up George and Elaine is there. Then Frank and Elaine are going to fight and she keeps laughing. "Are you saying you want a piece of me?
Its good times

He doesn't say Beatman. The Theater is The Beekman.

Its "Beatman", as in a slang term for a man who walks the "beat", which is slang for the area a police officer is assigned to patrol.

You must remember that Kramer is a hipster dufus. He knows slang like this!

It's The Beekman. What does it take to make you understand? If you need further proof, get the script. You can actually see The Beekman if you watch "Annie Hall."

See, George is bootlegging, so he's at the Beekman (theater) shooting a video and when he gets caught he tries to lam (run away), but he gets cheesed (caught by the police -- from the old line "Cheese it, the cops!")

Hardly anybody gets to see the best movies made every year. Movies with heart, soul, real emotion. At the Spiritual Cinema Circle, we go to dozens of film festivals every year to find great movies that will never make it to your local theater or video store. If you liked Whalerider, Field of Dreams, and The Matrix then you're going to love the undiscovered treasures the Spiritual Cinema Circle finds for you. Bryian.
