I think anyone would agree that Jerry couldn't touch Groucho in a million years when it comes to Ad lib... but Jerry is the voice of a new generation... my generation... so his material is much funnier and hits closer to home. On the other hand, I'd guess that those who lived back in the slapstick days would be pretty bored with Jerry's "shallow, fairly obvious observations."
It's like trying to compare J.D. Rockefeller to Bill Gates.
