Jimmy particularly liked this scene because it contained racist content.

I just saw a slieu of comments in regards to a video called the New Black Panther Party. I did not watch the entire video, but the comments eluded to the fact that someone was stomping on an American flag. Is this by any means the same as a country's flag being burned and stomped on for comical relief on a show that pokes fun at "everyone"?

I am making no judgment either way. However, I wanted to point out that a lot of the responses to the American flag being burned were racially driven-because it was a black man (I presume) stepping on the flag.

What many white Americans do not understand, nor try to understand, is the long history of oppression and degradation of other people who do not fit into a certain culture.

The question arises repeatedly, "If an American flag was being burned and stomped on Seinfeld, would people react or just think it was funny?"

My answer is simple, that would never happen. The "everyone" that Seinfeld makes fun of is everyone else that does not fit into white American mainstream culture.

Seriously, when are you people going to understand that IT'S A TV SHOW!!! It's called "acting." Burning the flag in itself wasn't funny but the chain of events that resulted was. Why aren't we criticizing killings in TV shows? We look down on flag burning but are OK with murderers?

The thing is, I'm pretty sure that the writers were not trying to offend anyone. Yes it is an American show, but people overreact to everything. It's just a flag, people. Aren't we all getting too materialistic here? If they burnt a person, wouldn't that be more offensive?

I'm thinking about giving all of you the toe.
