It's probable that I don't get any real answer and that you all are going to start beboppin' and scattin' all over me with some smartass remarks for not knowing the obvious answer or that you talked about this already, but I'll risk it anyway.

Most of the Seinfeld episodes have very obvious titles, but I never really got "The Alternate Side". Can someone explain this one to me?

"The Alternate Side" is named so because in the episode George takes a temporary job moving parked cars from one side of the street to the other (alternate) side. He screws it up and thus creates mass confusion on the set of Woody Allens movie.

On wikipedia it explains that there are ALTERNATE SIDE laws, which really just means that it is illegal to park on a certain side of the street (due to street cleaning, sweeping, snow plows, etc.) This is a very common infraction which is just a fineable offense.

George gets a job moving everyone's cars to avoid the fines, but he really sucks at it. Smile Watch the episode for more info...
