gs: Christine Dunford (Leslie) Vic Polizos (Tabachnik) James Lashly (Assistant) Margaret Reed (Mary) George C. Simms (FBI Man) Marla Fries (Stewardess) Don Perry (Passenger) Kate Mulligan (Party Guest) Audrey Frantz (Party Guest)

Elaine needs to use Jerry's apartment to hold a baby shower for a woman that once dated George. George reflects that she was "unequivocally the worst date of my life." Jerry has to go out of town for a show, so he lets Elaine use the apartment. Kramer sells Jerry on the idea on getting an illegal cable hookup. The party begins. The cable guys come to install the hookup. Jerry's show gets canceled, so he returns to the apartment with George (who's prepared to confront the bad date). Jerry is the victim of his own confrontation.

b: 16-May-91 pc: 204 w: Larry Charles d: Tom Cherones

NOTE: Bosco, the chocolate that stained George's sweater, is his ATM password in a later episode.
Christine Dunford (Leslie), who is the woman for whom the baby shower is given and "unequivocally the worst date of [George's] life", later plays the acerbic saleswoman in "The Pie"

I believe this is the first episode that doesn't begin with Jerry doing stand-up.

Note: In this episode Kramer gets Jerry illegal cable, but this doesn't make sense because in the previous episode "The Deal" Jerry and Elaine are sitting on Jerry's couch watching "The Naked Station" that is on cable as George mentioned: "That's why I don't have cable".

Well, Kramer does mention something about the cable companies having to resolve their disputes and going to court. Maybe there was a recent strike or disruption of service.

Lovin' Every Minute Of It: Kramer does mention the disputes, but I think that was due to Kramer's own problem with the cable company. And dispute or not, free cable wouldn't work if the cable companies were on strike. Illegal cable would be coming from the same source.

Hey...I saw the reference to Bosco...and that's the name I want to use when I post on this forum (I've posted once...this is my second). does one register so that the name is "officially" mine? OR...does someone else already have the name "Bosco"?

There's no registration, Bosco. But once you have 100 posts, it pretty much becomes yours. If someone else then tries to use it, the rest of us circle around him like the Van Burens. They usually come to their senses. If not, we call on Bob abd Cedric. It's usually over then.

Thanks for the info...and so I assume there is no "Bosco" here? I thought for sure someone would have had that as a name...but if not...I'll use Bosco.

Now...back to the discussion re: The Baby Shower...

funny thing happened to me a couple days ago. i think it was Aids day yesterday or something. and i found myself donating some change, which of course entitles me to an Aids ribbon. first thing i thought was " how long do i have to wait before i can chuck this? ". when i finally did, i had the strange feeling that two gay gangsters were going to jump me. luckily, i didn't happen.

Regarding the cable discrepency. If you look at the episode numbers, this is 204, whereas 'The Deal' is 213, so presumably this was broadcast out of order from its filming/writing date.

One note and two questions about this episode.

First, as George and Jerry head back to Jerry's apartment for the encounters at the shower, while they discuss the impending confrontation in the car, it appears to be quite dark outside. However, in the brief shot of Jerry's building, before George and Jerry go inside, it is clearly no darker than twilight.

According to the DVD set, this is episode 4 of season 2. This doesn't correlate with the information on this web site. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Finally, is the the first episode (of many) in whch Elaine is forced to endure a relationship (as well as care for the infirm boyfriend) longer than she cares to due to an illness or injury?

I saw this one last night. Does anyone know if the woman Kramer tells about eating "all the apple" is the same woman as one Gladys Mayo of Cinco de Mayo fame?

The woman that Kramer is talking to is not the same woman who played Gladys de Mayo. If you saw the episodes back to back you'd be able to tell.

No more posts about plot inconsistencies: dark vs twilight, cable vs non-cable, etc. No more.
