Jerry is watching an unruly dog, for a fellow airline passenger who's sick in a hospital somewhere in Chicago. Jerry, can't leave his apartment, that leaves George and Elaine alone together. They find they have little to say to each other without their conversational third, Jerry; so they talk about him. Kramer tries breaking up with his girlfriend. Jerry can't locate the dogs owner, who was released from the hospital, some time ago.

Elaine and Kramer are left alone a few times. Off the top of my head, in "The Limo", Kramer tries convincing Ekaine that Jerry is the head of the Arien Nation while waiting to be picked up in the Limo.
In another episode, Elaine and Kramer decide that they have sex 5 times a week in the fictional relationship they're going to pretend to have for the benefit of her psychiatrist. I'm sure there are others.
Elaine and George are left alone in the episode that Elaine talks dirty into Jerry's tape recorder. One of the all-time classic scenes has Goerge and Elaine sitting in his car as he drops her off at home. |

Kramer and Elaine are alone when Kramer comes to see Elaine to get advice on his "jimmy-legs" girlfriend. |

Elaine and George were also alone together in "The Revenge" when Elaine helps George get back at his boss.

In this episode both George and Elaine are sitting at Monk's talking about Jerry. They are taking about the coffee (Morning Thunder) that Jerry drinks has caffeine and that Jerry doesn't drink caffeine and that he doesn't know his coffee has caffeine in it. Well, in "Good News Bad News" when George and Jerry are eating the waitress is serving both of them the same coffee and later tells Jerry that the coffee she had served George had caffeine in it, Jerry laughs and we assure Jerry does drink caffeinated coffee. Also while Elaine and George are at Monk's talking about Jerry that both acknowledge that they have seen Jerry throw-up before. We later learn in "The Dinner Party" before Jerry throws-up at the bakery he tells Elaine he hasn't thrown-up since 1981. Now, in this episode (The Dog) Elaine tells George she has lived in New York for six years. This is in 1991, if she has only lived there for six years she wouldn't have known Jerry before hand, so hence she couldn't have seen him thrown-up before.

Jerry last threw up in 1980, not '81. I just realized, my fault. "I know, I haven't thrown up since June 29th, 1980."

George and Elaine were alone in the "Parking Space" Episode 39. George was driving Jerry's car and Elaine was the passenger. Elaine uses the mirror and George swerves into a pothole, which makes Jerry's car react with some strange noise. Then Elaine has to make up a fake story to Jerry. |

Kramer and Elaine were also alone in "The Millenium" Episode 154. Kramer helps Elaine get back at Puta Mayo by re-pricing all the garments / removing dessicants. |

Elaine and Kramer are also left alone in "The Slicer", in fact, several times:
1. When Kramer helps Elaine to short the neighbor's apartment electric circuit
2. When Kramer brings the slicer to feed the starving cat through a locked door
3. When Kramer busts into Elaine's apartment to pick up his abused slicer. |

The character "Gavin Polone" is named after Larry David's manager (who is the co-exec producer of "Curb Your Enthusiasm"). |

I wonder why they decided not to show the dog (given that one worked fine in the pilot). Must have just been easier that way.
Never for a moment do I get any sense that there's really a dog there, but that's OK!

What was the drink Elaine was making in Jerry's house with milk, in the episode "The Dog"? |
