I've been on a big hunt for the name of the opera song playing when Elaine and Bob 'The Maestro' are over looking Tuscany from the balcony at the end. The screen play says its an Italian lady.

The opera is also featured on television commercials for Hitman: Contracts

It's by Verdi, don't listen to much opera so I don't know the name of the piece, but definitly Verdi.

Are you referring to Finiculi, Finicula? The composer of that piece is actually Luigi Denza, if I am not mistaken.

No, my mistake. Finiculi, Finicula is what they sang in the car. I'd have to see the episode again to indentify the piece from the balcony....

You sure Jackie? I only seem to remember the Maestro mentioning Verdi, Copland, Bernstein. And he conducted "flight of the bumble bee" when his baton was broke. That's all I remember. Maestro is the MAN!! He's the pimp daddy of Tuscany.

It's 'O mio babbino caro' from Puccini's 'Gianni Schicchi. You'll quite likely find it on a Callas compilation CD

If you need to find any information on the Maestro character you can just ask him at his restaurant near Green Bay Wisconsin, called Libby Montana's. I found it on a website called HeadlinerDiners.com. The Maestro's real life name is Mark Metcalf and he is there regularly. When I called he was actually there in the restaurant.
