When Jerry says, "I am not an animal" near the elevator at the end, is he parodying Spartucus or The Eelephant Man which both contain that line ? Please settle a bet. Thanks.

He's parodying both Shakespeare and T.E.M.

Shylock says: If you prick us, do we not bleed?.

The Elephant Man says: I am not an animal. I am a human being.

Does Michael Richards have TONNES of body makeup on in this episode, when he comes out in his tighty-whities for the Calvin Klein people? At one point he falls along the wall, and there's this huge brown streak across the wall that wasn't there before! Look for it!

Or, listen to them talk about it for about 5 minutes in the DVD box set.

I just saw the old movie, "Double Indemnity." Edward G. Robinson plays an insurance claims man who says he knows which claims are frauds because "the little man" inside tells him. He always listens to his little man.

What about the line: "For I have seen the nipple on your soul."

Does anyone know if this too is a parody?

It does sound like a parody. But if I were betting, I'd bet against it.

In the immediately preceding scene, with Jerry at the elevator, the Notes About Nothing cite two sources for Jerry's lines: "If we pick, do we not bleed" parodies The Merchant of Venice ("If you prick us do we not bleed?") and "I am not an animal!" comes from the movie version of The Elephant Man. The Notes About Nothing don't say anything about the nipple-on-your-soul line.

I love Elaine's response to George's complaint about not getting his Xmas card - 'You wanna a Xmas card! Here's your Xmas card!'
