The guy who makes the Elainnequins is the same one who was obsessed with her TV Guide in the Cigar Store Indian.

This episode has some missing info in it for me. Why didn't Jerry's girlfriend want to take a piece of the pie. Was it becuase she saw the cook in the bathroom not wash her hands? Was it poisened?

I think the point was at the start Jerry's girlfriend seemed very strange for not trying a piece of pie, but by the end of the episode we see a few reasons on why someone would act like she did.

CP...you're confusing 2 different situations. She didn't see anyone in the bathroom not washing their hands. Besides the fact that I don't know of any "co-ed" bathrooms anywhere in North America, it was Jerry that saw HER FATHER in the bathroom not washing his hands (I'm not even going to get into how disturbing it is to think that you thought she was in a public bathroom with her own father). It was never explained why she didn't want a taste of the pie, and we're not really supposed to know. It was just a set up for Jerry not eating the Pizza and George not taking a piece of cake with his new boss. The closest we can come to a reason for her not tasting the pie is because MAYBE she didn't want to take a piece of it after Jerry put the fork in his mouth and then offered her a piece of it.

Does Jimmy have to go into his disgusting Captain Kirk analogy again on this question?

To quote Mr. Kruger who seeks proof of Festivus, "Yeah, you probably should".

From the pilot episode in regards to George and the swooshing suit: "You do of course try on before you buy..."

It is never explained why Audrey doesn't taste the pie. Did she see it being mishandled or something? You'd think after getting questioned repeatedly she would eventually say, "You know I saw the pie fall off the plate onto the floor but I didn't want to say anything...."

Sorry - I haven't quite figured this website out yet, and I have already tried to post this a few times, but it hasn't shown up. At any rate, has anyone else ever noticed the subtle parallels between this episode and the classic film, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers? When Elaine and George first see the mannequin, George calls it a "pod" and jokingly cautions Elaine, "don't fall asleep." Also, the whole plot with the health inspector coming down on Poppi (Sutherland's character was a health inspector in the re-make) seems a deliberate nod to the movie. Finally, during George's restaurant interview, when he refuses to eat the pie, one of the guys says: "If you're one of us, you'll take a bite." Pretty clever, eh?

how great is poppie?! well, he's a little sloppy. one of my favorite characters. however i still can't believe that a man can just urinate on a couch. and he just gets up and leaves! wouldn't he be even a little embarassed about that huge pee-stain that surely formed on the front of his pants. i guess where he comes from, people do that all the time.

Another bit of trivia regarding the pie episode and it's invasion of the body snathers references and sci-fi references. The man playing the health inspector is actor Paul Mantee, who was the lead in a movie titled Robinson Crusoe on Mars. Adam West was his fellow astronaut, who is killed when they crash land.
