Editorial Review:
Product Description:
Ed Sullivan's show was straight out of old vaudeville; brief acts of every description, from slapstick comedy to operatic arias. At least once, he showed a film, the only known film of Anna Pavlova (doing her Swan Dance). The Muppets first TV appearance was on Ed Sullivan. Stiff and expressionless, with a peculiar voice and a talent for mispronunciation, Sullivan was at least as recognizable as Cronkite to early 60s viewers. Narrated by Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & The Papas 1. The Jackson 5- I Want You Back 2. Bill Hayley & His Comets - Rock Around The Clock 3. Elvis Presley - Don't Be Cruel 4. Ray Charles - What'd I Say 5. Jackie Wilson - Lonely Teardrops 6. The Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There 7. James Brown - Please, Please, Please 8. Roy Orbison - Oh, Pretty Woman 9. The Lovin' Spoonful - Do You Believe In Magic? 10. The Doors - Light My Fire 11. The Temptations & The Supremes - [I Know] I'm Losing You 12. The Young Rascals - Good Lovin' 13.
