Editorial Review:Product Description:The bestselling author of the Blood Books delivers a masterful new urban fantasy. Alysha Gale is a member of a family capable of changing the world with the charms they cast. Then she receives word that she's inherited her grandmother's junk shop in Calgary, only to discover upon arriving that she'll be serving the fey community. And when Alysha learns just how much trouble is brewing in Calgary, even calling in the family to help may not be enough to save the day.

I really enjoyed this novel! It's packed with Huff's trademark sense of humor, quirky, interesting characters, and great adventure. Loved the "Aunties," loved the Dragons, loved the Leprechaun, basically loved it all to bits. I wish, I hope, I *implore* Ms. Huff to create a series and write more about the Gale family or their world. It'll be great fun!
I enjoyed this book in the Kindle edition.

This is one of the few books that I've read twice in a long time. I read it once in hardcover then picked it up again later in paperback. While the story starts simply with a young woman who has had to move home because she lost her job, it rapidly evolves into one of the most engrossing stories that I've read. It is rapid paced and detailed. The latter ends up being a surprise because the writing is so smooth that it is easy to not realize how much depth is in the story. Characters are three dimensional and end up so well scoped out that one wouldn't be surprised to meet one on the street. Even the dragon-people are realistic as weird as that may sound. As the story progresses, the full nature of the characters is revealed to the character and the reader. If this book doesn't win some kind of award, then the voters didn't read it.

This is the first Tanya Huff book I ever read and was looking forward to reading it from the summary on the back. Needless to say I found the book rather boring, and was rather taken back by all the sex between cousins, aunts and everybody else that came along. I'm far from a prud but this smacks a little of incest don't ya think??
Don't think I will read anymore by this author!!

The Enchantment Emporium is absolutely up to Huff's usual standards - funny and engrossing, lots of action, great plot and engaging characters you come to care about! Dragon lords, a leprechaun who's too big, quibbling aunties, romance and a box of yo-yos all combine for a great reading experience when a grandmother asks her granddaughter to take over her store of magical goods and then disappears. Chaos ensues and nothing is as it seems. All is resolved in the end, with a great deal of fun on the way!

When the back of the book said "they like to keep the power in the family" I thought they meant to keep it a secret - apparently they meant that the men are only allowed to pair up with another female of the family. And all the females take a turn trying the men out before he decides on just one. I only made it through the first couple of chapters and then quit reading because I couldn't take any more of the incest. Do not buy this if you have a problem with incest and cousins having sex left and right.
