Sorry about this folks, but I had to shut down the tracker, at least for a few days.

Since I started the tracker, I began having connection problems, and I started losing email (my mail server is on the same machine).

It could just be my ISP, but I need to be sure.

Hopefully I can put it back up in a few days. If not, than I really need one or more volunteers to run the tracker. You don't need to have all the files. You just need to have broadband connection and a computer that is on day and night. Anyone interested? I would help get it set up of course....

I would be interested as I have broadband and leave my computer on all the time. My problem is I am still trying to get episodes but would be more than willing to help.

Posted or not, you need a tracker. Websites like supranova simply list torrents that are available and possibly host the actual torrent files.

Some of these exact same torrents are up at If you download the .torrent file and aim it at your existing file directory you can resume the downloads. There's not many people there but I'm on Series six at around 83% completed.

Note that I have partially downloaded some seinfield already, hope it will help as well.

Hmm, why don't you consider using a PHP tracker script? There's a few out there. The one I'm using atm is TorrentTrader...which is still in it's beta stages, but you can still get it if you look on (I think).

I'd gladly host the tracker. I can spare my Powerbook for the rest of the summer and i get about 768 kilobits/sec on upload.

I have a tracker running off of my iMac. Address is

I think everything is set up correctly, as I'm behind a double firewall there might be a problem. So if someone with an outside connection could at least try and connect.

Ok, to start, since i'm new to setting up trackers, apparently I need to first have the files in order to gennerate the correct torrent files.

That is unless someone knows how to change the announce in Stan's set up. Maybe stan could answer this one?

otherwise everything is ready

I'm sure the tracker will be up soon in one form or another. The big problem is that whenever it goes down and starts up again, all the seeds that have been built up are lost and volunteers are needed to help re-seed. This takes time to get going; hopefully we'll get good support from those that already have a lot of episodes.

Meanwhile you can always get out the good old VCR -- TBS Superstation has it on most evenings, and is having their usual Wednesday marathon tomorrow -- with a digital satellite feed I've been putting together a pretty good quality VHS collection. Coming up tomorrow:

Wednesday May26 06:30PM ET The Tape
Wednesday May26 07:00PM ET The Alternate Side
Wednesday May26 08:00PM ET The Soup
Wednesday May26 08:30PM ET The Secretary
Wednesday May26 09:00PM ET The Switch
Wednesday May26 09:30PM ET The Race
Wednesday May26 10:00PM ET The Scofflaw
Wednesday May26 10:30PM ET The Kiss Hello

...and a few more:

Tonight, May 25:
7:00 PM EDT - Most FOX-E affiliates: The Sponge
7:30 PM EDT - CHRO/CKVR/CFPL: The Shower Head
11:00 PM EDT - ASN: Male Unbonding
11:00 PM EDT - Most FOX-E affiliates: The Airport

More on Wednesday May 26:
7:00 PM EDT - Most FOX-E affiliates: The Soup Nazi
7:30 PM EDT - CHRO/CKVR/CFPL: The Doll
11:00 PM EDT - ASN: The Mango
11:00 PM EDT - Most FOX-E affiliates: The Visa

Jerry was exaggerating only slightly when he announced the DVD release on Leno and quipped "it's only on [TV] 19 times a day..." Very Happy ...if you count an additional broadcast on a local station here at 11:00 AM, there will be 13 episodes broadcast tomorrow alone!

So for those truly addicted, don't overlook this rich source of Seinfeld. I actually have more episodes on my VHS collection than in AVI's/DVD's. Smile

Sorry for the delay on this, I've been super busy. Soon after I stopped the tracker, my mail server problems stopped. So I can't run it.

Thanks to those who volunteered. John, your offer seems the most promising, with 700K upload (beats my 96K!) and you now have a tracker running. I can't connect to the IP you listed though.

There is a program called MakeTorrent that can be used to change the annouce URL (without hafving the files). You just open the torrent and change the announce URL in the "View/Edit" tab.

I will send an email to John as well, just in case he is no longer following this thread...

Why do we need own tracker when there are many free ones that works great?
there's two and you only need to register your nick to the forum. Posting torrent there would also bring many new leechers to the torrent.

Sorry for not getting back quicker. Using the program stan suggested required Windows, which took a while to get up and running on my powerbook.

Anyway. As a test I believe everything is working. Once again I sit inside a network so it's near impossible to test fully. However I was successful in connecting my iMac to the Powerbook through the public IP.

Only seasons 1-9 of the non-high quality are available at this time.
