Because I don't see the point of a stand in, like kramer and mickey were doing, my question is: why is it needed in a regular show?

Stand-ins are substitutes for an actor while the lights and camera are adjusted.

Those pretentious actors with their complicated shoes can't spare an extra 2 minutes to stand there while they adjust the lighting. It might conflict with their deicate genius.

Yeah, they are so self-absorbed and egotistical thinking they're so cool and hip.

The funny thing to me about that episode is that the set is full of Little People. I mean honestly do you require THAT many stand-ins for kids on one show? Weird?
