I've only seen the first disc so far, but he does a commentary on that one. |

he stopped doing them after season 7.
I think a lot of it had to do with his "incident". |

I think he only did they early on. Maybe the first few but the next issues he wasn't on. I think that goes back to Season 4 or 5. |

When he (Michael Richards) in those interviews he looked a little depressed. Do you guys think he just wasn't "into it" so he did stuff for the first release of DVDs (Seasons 1 to 3), did one other commentary, and then just didn't want to.
I wonder how economically reimbursed he was compared to Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David after giving so much of himself to the show and then he doesn't get a big chuck of the pie? Sort of the Dave Chappelle thing.
Maybe the other cast members thought they'd get there own huge fortunes after they got there own shows ... but it didn't work out that way.
Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David got enough money to buy an island. Do you think the others could feel ok about that? |

Doesn't everyone deal with the same thing? Don't a lot of people bust their asses everyday while others "above them" reap the benefits? Why is this any different? If the show would've failed, those "above" would've been responsible. Jerry's name, reputation, and career was put on the front lines... and he's earned his success. The others were paid to perform for Jerry and Larry, and were fantastic. End of story. |

Jimmy, I agree with you.
I just wish everyone involved in Seinfeld got the "buy an island" kind of money.
That's a nice island kind of money. You know, with water, gas, electric, and cable. A jet way ... and a Starbucks. |

They could've received "buy an island" kind of money by refusing to continue unless demands were met (or negotiated). Surely, they foresaw DVDs, syndication, and other merchandising possibilities within the 6th season. I'm actually glad they weren't greedy enough to do so... but to become greedy later, then rejected, would be their own fault.
If they truly deserved what Jerry has obtain, they'd create something as unique and brilliant themselves... instead of feeling like the rock star who made the record company rich (even though the record company made that person into a rock star in the first place). |
